Lug Adapters?

Has anyone ever experienced with using a lug adapter? I'm looking to switch from 4x100 to 5x114.3 seeing if it's safe to use a lug adapter or not be cheap and do the lug converison.

it's as safe as bolt-on wheel spacers. if you use hubcentric ones, it should be fine on the street. you're bolting something on that is hubcentric, the load bearing is on the hub, and if the wheel you put on the adapter is also hubcentric, the weight is still on the strength of the hub.

but personally i wouldn't want to do any motorsports with spacers. i don't have any empirical evidence that it's actually less safe, just gut feeling lol

I don't really have any plans to do any motorsports with it but you never know. But thanks for the input. Do you have any idea if I do want to get them where to get good quality ones?

no clue. i tried looking on ebay, but there's barely any. what's wrong with 4x100? you don't get more wheel selection going to 5x114, so i'm wondering why
