Coilover repair in Vancouver? Does anyone know of a shop does coil over repair in Vancouver, I have one that blew on my 1995 civic, they were skunk 2 any help would be great! |
Suspensions and springs, Fox Racing Shox, in BC, AB, and SK. | RMR Suspensions The guys there may, or may not, be able to repair for you. Depends on the nature of repair, and if your coilovers are capable of repair. Some are not. Best to ask. |
Can I repair two semi blown Koni yellow shocks? Or just replace them? |
I think the best way to answer your question is what it will cost. I don't recall if RMR Suspensions can rebuild them or not (again, best to ask.) You will have to factor in your labour and time to remove the old shocks and your down time while they're in for repair. I know there are a few authorized shops in California who can rebuild them for a reasonable cost, but remember, the dollar is no longer at par, so some food for thought. |
Highly doubt those are rebuildable. Best is to replace. |

Skunk 2 coilover repair Hi guys just an update, i recently contacted skunk2 customer service line, and they are willing to send me a replacement shock for the leaking coilover, Ill have to pay shipping and 150 us funds. I still havent done but am starting to think this is the best option. |
That sounds like a lot of money for a single shock. For reference, all four corners for ~$300 US with free shipping https://www.jhpusa.com/store/pc/view...idcategory=156 |
yes, good point on the pricing reference. I have decided to take the hit and sell them off cheap, I went back to adjustble shocks and lowering springs for a more comfortable ride. |
Bumping this before I contact a couple local shops... I'm looking to get in touch with shops that can rebuild KW coilovers. I'm trying to see what's around before I decide to send these off to California, as KW wants approx $200 USD per corner. Any suggestions appreciated! |
Is the dampener itself leaking? Or are you simply looking to get it overhauled? |

As a heads up - KW USA will no longer revalve shocks to the best of my knowledge, only refresh them to like new. They also will not sell the parts to suspension shops any more to revalve them. A bit of a crappy change on their end, way to not support the motorsports end user. -Mark |
Wow, that sucks. |

After calling a few shops it appears that only KW can service their own struts. They quoted approximately $160-$200 per strut which isn't too unreasonable considering a set of new ones are double the cost... |
Sooooo....any local places that can replace worn out seals? |
