Destination Toyota relocation questions Destination Toyota has relocated to Still Creek Drive from the original Burnaby Lougheed location. Besides the modernizations and streamlines to dealership business practices, 1. Does it still have a bodyshop component at their new Still Creek Drive 4S dealership? is it currently operational or not? 2. Would you say this move is an aggressive expansion by Toyota Canada? 3. Morrey Nissan and Destination Toyota lift cars up to their roof and 2nd/3rd floors for storage. Storing hundreds of cars on building roofs for long periods of time. Is this legal and safe? |
Storing cars on a roof is not legal I'm calling 911 right now. This is not China. companies here have to follow strict building codes. |
Why does Gululu care about 'cheap' cars like Toyota / Nissan :suspicious: Quote:

4. Is Gululu a faggot? |
Bodyshop is currently at the old location. There WILL be a bodyshop at the new location, it is currently still under construction. |
5. See question #4 |
How is it "aggressive expansion", when it was Destination's choice to move because the old location looked small? Hell, Granville Toyota and Jim Pattison runs two separate branches in the area. Is that "aggressive"? Or just making it more convenient for buyers? And I work in the Richmond Lexus building, is shit falling apart? I'm taking the bait here, but this is fucking stupid. |
sounds like disgruntled employee =\ |
1. Call and ask if you're interested 2. What the fuck does that even mean? 3. I doubt they would've been able to get the permitting to install the lift if the structure wasn't rated for the weight. This is Canada, not China. |
I doubt it has to do with an aggressive expansion of Toyota. The move is all about land development. Still Creek is where the industrial activity will occur, while all of the land fronting Dawson and Lougheed Highway between Gilmore and Douglas will turn into commercial, retail, and residential. Although I don't know who owns the land where the former dealership sat, Onni owns the rest of the block between Gilmore and Madison. The City of Burnaby put out an official community plan last fall to turn that block into a mixture of residential and commercial towers. The land in that area is too valuable for both developers and the City of Burnaby to stay in its current form. Maybe one of the other developers that owns the land is waiting for the right time to file a rezoning application? |
FYI, this has nothing at all to do with Toyota Canada as every Toyota dealership is privately owned. |
Some answers to your question: 1. :stfu: 2. :failed: 3. :gtfo: |
Word on the street was another Destination brand was going to take over the existing location after massive renovations. Likely Honda from what I was told. They outgrew their existing building by a huge margin. Pretty much every operational day there would be no parking for guests, as sales service and the bodyshop all shared the same sub-20 car parkade. |
Destination Honda on hastings will be moving to where Destination Toyota use to be |
