Is that the place directly across from the skytrain entrance? If so +1!

This is a classic RS thread...........

You know it's a classic when you are so confused you lose track of what the thread is about.

Which pizza place are we talking about? Is the thread really about pizza?

On a side note, Uncle Fatty is opening up a location in the Solo District.

Famoso on Commercial has pretty good pizza as well.

I was just in Rome a few week ago, and an interesting thing to note is that they sell pizza by the slice, but they price it by weight and not per slice.

The one and only time I've gone to Famosa, the pizza was amazing. Did I luck out?

Dunno why OP was failed, he's right. Flying Wedge is fucking garbage pizza. The crust sucks, it's super doughy, the types of pizza are ridiculous combinations of ingredients, and it's pricey as all hell. I've never felt good after eating there, both my stomach and having spent so much.

By the slice pizza in this town sucks. Rather, the good places are rare and out of reach.

You know when you travel somewhere, and have the food that's native to that place, and you get back home and you just can't have that food anymore? That's how I felt about New York. Even the $1 slice cheese pizza is fresh, simple, and so satisfying.

And the turnover is so high from the population density that around lunch or dinner time you'll get a slice that's less than a few minutes old, made with real italian mozzarella (NYC is much closer to Italy) and only costs a buck.

Pizza in Italy sucked imo. And I ate a lot of it in a lot of different spots.

I think it's just the romanticism of eating it there that gets people, I'd take some local joints over the Italian pizza any day.

Really? It's personal preference. I love Italian thin crust pizza. I bet you'd go to China and complain you can't get Kung Pow and Sweet and Sour Pork the way you can here. SMH

In hindsight I actually had some excellent pizza there in the cinque terre, but it was at a pretty good restaurant

The street side pizza was nothing special though, mostly just hard/stale foccacia

Thanks Spartan!

When we lived in Morgan Creek I would go to the Thrifty Foods on Croydon. They have a forno oven, and a vast selection of ingredients and would bake the pizza while you shop. For about $8 you could get a beautiful forno cooked pizza. That was a great bargain.
