I live close to Pajo's in Steveston, so I've had it quite a few times. I don't find it that great. The batter is kinda soggy.

Just had the Halibut and Oyster Po Boy @ The Fish Counter on Main street....

blows pajos out of the water, not really close imo

I been to pajos like 10+ times and I give it a 7/10 , Fish Counter is like 9.5/10 , only place comparable is Joe Fortes.

The Oyster Po Boy Sandwich which has Kimch inside is fucking huge for $9.00..... so cheap! Worth every penny!

Super friendly staff!!! Had a chat with the employees (probably the owner since he was ordering the other guy what to do) and music is old school and retro which I liked. I had a showing around the back as well and was super chill.

Cockneys is terrible, even the all you can eat isn't worth it.... batter is soggy, sauce is normal , 5/10

The Halibut at Fish Counter was really crispy and has the best batter I have seen in my life.... the tartar sauce isn't normal tartar sauce. It isn't fat and thick which I love! The fries are meh imo but it does come with cabbage and kale salad in every order. Drinks are unique as well, apple spritzer and some bottle cola's / white tea cold etc.

Thanks revscene for recommending this, I now recommend everyone to try it out and get the Halibut . 1 piece + Po Boy made me filled up the whole night. Finished two order of fries myself so my 6pack hates me ..... I had to do 30minutes cardio everyday to burn this now haha

DO NOT get two fries if you plan to get the oyster po boy and piece(s) of fish, it is a lot for one order

no chairs but benches around, sat beside the cooler and it wasn't cold, no cold air came out of the cooler beside the bench. Please post a review after

Taste-wise, I only find them OK. But I won't complain when I'm there for their Mon-Wed $10.95 AYCE deal. (I just hope my arteries will forgive me... )

Is that the Indian version of Pajo's?

I've never tried the oyster po boy at Fish Counter, only the fish and chips. Damn, now I gotta walk over there this weekend and try it out!

Just like every AYCE joint, once you go that route your quality goes to shit status. Cockney is no different.

Goddamnit this thread convinced me to drag my ass from Richmond to Fish Counter. Tried arctic char this time. Reminds me of salmon. Better stick to ling cod

Mine was a long piece of halibut crispy as hell.... and your sandwich has no veggies / kimchi? is that even the oyster po boy?? maybe you had a bad angle / lighting, looked zoomed in....

mines looked like this:

...because I ordered arctic char, I'm not familiar with fishes enough to know it is similar to salmon. I'm usually adventurous so when there is something new I try it...
