GT3RS vs GTR

Taking two machines that were built to destroy corners and just pointing them in a straight line seems a bit daft to me.

trollguy 06-17-2016 07:49 AM

wow.. never knew the RS was that fast in a straight line.. crazy

996 911C4S is much better than both of those, right Marco?

I think the RS is rear wheel drive only, weighs way less than the GTR.

You're right.
The RS is about 800 lbs less than the GT-R. The additional HP that the GT-R has isn't enough to make up for the equivalent weight of 5 more passengers.

I'm with underscore though. To take these corner killers and run them in a straight line is a bit silly. What's worse is the reaction of the Porsche world. I've seen this video posted numerous times on car sites followed by the P-car faithful, boasting about German automotive superiority.

The RS sure is a good looking car though.

Hope thats the nismo your comparing it since thats about the top spec porsche. If not you may as well compare a base model gtr to a carerra c2

Good catch, they said it's the "track edition", which according to wikipedia:

Quote:

For the 2014 model year, Nissan introduced a limited production Track Edition GT-R which deletes the rear seats (saving 22 lbs over the Black Edition) and adds more aggressive suspension, carbon fiber air inlets, improved brake cooling, a unique front spoiler, and new black and gray leather Recaro front seats.
By not using the Nismo they've made this entire video pointless.

Of course in the real world you'd never run into a gt3 with warmed up tires to race against in a "stoplight/drag race" situation. Throw a flash tune on both cars and it's game over, for at least the next 2 generations of gt3rs.

Did they forget to mention GT3RS actually appreciates in value instead of depreciate.

westopher 06-18-2016 03:05 PM

Did they forget to mention how ugly the GTR is?
