Internet150

new Shaw tech is out. Need this modem though.

bluejays 08-13-2016 05:11 PM

Was paying $105 for shaw100, upgraded to shaw150 last week and now my bill went down to $80. Faster Internet for cheaper :notbad:

syee 08-13-2016 05:15 PM

If you've got the Cisco DPC3848V, it also works.

Hehe 08-13-2016 05:50 PM

Although 150 is more than enough for most, the 15mb upload really needs some improvement.

I lived briefly in a building where they got Urban Fibre. 1000mbps for both up and down. Now that's beyond awesome.

Internet is so expensive in Canada. WutFace

I am paying around $35 for 500Mbps plan and $27 for 100Mbps for my parents.

I'm on Internet 30 and paying $30/month give or take.

More than ample for all that I do.

Just curious what are you guys doing that you need those speeds? Streaming 4k? etc.

lilaznviper 08-14-2016 12:20 AM

4k porn, downloading, parents streaming their asian tv shows through the andriod box, parents on wechat sending pictures and video back and forth

well telus called and offered 75 dollars for phone tv and 150 internet. not bad. forgot to ask how long that price will be

I am using 25gb data 4G+ 300Mbps plan, no need to store anything in the phone or tablet, everything is accessible from my NAS. Photos, Apps, work files, music, videos, porn...lighting fast.

So...Internet 150 only cost $49 per month for a year
Second year will become to $79.99
After 2nd year, it goes back to $135 ??

I am still on old Shaw Broadband 250 for $130 per month.

Should I ditch this old plan go with Internet 150 ??
What would you guys do in this situation ??

Telus Fibre just rolled out new 150/150 "unlimited" data (Telus doesn't enforce their cap yet) for $50/month.

A lot of people on RFD said that unless you go over your cap by several hundred GBs for a few months in a row then doesn't really cap you. If you do, they'll email/call you and ask you to pay for the unlimited option or bump to a higher tier, which you can't do if you're already on the fastest plan available.

Telus PureFibre is also only rolled out in a very limited market in Vancouver.
