Mercedes-Benz X-Class

Excellent idea, pick up truck market in North America is HUGE.

Now we're gonna see pick up trucks from BMW, Audi, Lexus, Jaguar, Infiniti, etc.

not sure if i should fail timpo or thank him, truck looks pretty cool but its a merc for the love of god

not sure who would buy a merc made truck lol

Nlkko 10-27-2016 10:54 PM

This is what happens when manufacturers build cars based on focus groups. A luxury work truck? Why yes we absolutely need those.

twitchyzero 10-27-2016 10:58 PM

built in Mexico?

wikipedia says same platform as the new Nissan Frontier and assembled in Japan

the platnium f150 is there already

and who remembers the Lincoln Blackwood

Galactic_Phantom 10-27-2016 11:44 PM

With the trend of mainlander's obsession with F150s, I am not looking forward seeing more luxury pickup options available in the market.

T minus however the fuck many days til this car gets released when Richmond is no longer driveable for normal people FailFish

twitchyzero 10-27-2016 11:53 PM

why does it matter what brand/type of vehicle bad drivers have?
I think that's only valid if a car has poor visibility without any nanny aids...which I'm sure this will have.

Would you rather collide with a shitty driver driving a Mitsubishi Mirage or a F150 or G63?

Nanny aids are not a solution to shitty driving.

ae101 10-28-2016 12:23 AM

i really wonder what can it really do

asian_XL 10-28-2016 07:34 AM

not bad looking for Nissan Frontier

Z3guy 10-28-2016 07:49 AM

With the top of the line F150 and GMCs selling for $70k+, this is a no brainer for Merc/BMW/Audi to enter the truck game. Margins are massive (relatively low tech) and it is a new lucrative segment for the germans. Remember when people thought Porsche was crazy developing a SUV?

With how crazy the Hummer looking G wagon sells, I think new non truck customers will be buying these German trucks...

thumper 10-28-2016 08:18 AM

nissan in a mercedes suit.

these are the only merc "trucks" i recognize...

Just because it is a truck doesn't mean it is for working.
How often do you see all those SUV in the cities go off-road?

flagella 10-28-2016 09:22 AM

Can't imagine picking this over a Raptor.

ilovebacon 10-28-2016 09:28 AM

that looks pretty cool. Those rims LOL.

That's because of the duties imposed on foreign trucks, if Merc decides to step into the fray of the US market they're going to have to invest a lot and have these things built in the US to avoid the duties lots of risk and money involved for that

Akinari 10-28-2016 12:34 PM

As if those who would buy luxury pickups would go for something that's not American anyway.

richardmozis 10-28-2016 03:03 PM

Just wait till the X63 AMG 4-matic+ model with 600+hp

Are you sure about that?

If you travel Europe and Asia, you can see how there's almost no market for full size pickup trucks.

RRxtar 10-28-2016 06:13 PM

lets be serious. the green one isnt real life.

the white one actually isnt too bad tho. slots in above the ridgeline that apparently some how has a market segment. people who need an SUV but occasionally want to feel like they have a truck

maneetkaran 10-28-2016 08:34 PM

Looks like the newer ridgeline.
