Need your expertise about Monitor / Video Card

Hi there

I need your expertise to answer my 2 quick questions below. Many thanks in advance for your help.

I am planning to sell my used 27" monitor with the following specifications.

(1) If the buyer is using Mini DisplayPort, can the buyer get an adapter at nGear Mini DisplayPort to DVI Cable Adapter - CAB-D-DVI-M - NCIX.com, so the buyer can connect to my monitor ?

(2) If the buyer is using GTX980 running 120hz with the monitor, can he use the adapter from
nGear Mini DisplayPort to DVI Cable Adapter - CAB-D-DVI-M - NCIX.com

Please kindly answer my 2 quick questions ASAP.

1. Yes
2. The mini-dp at the end needs to meet at least v1.2 specs to support 1440p @ 120hz

Thanks for your prompt reply.

May I know how can the buyer find out the whether the mini disport of his GTX980 video card meet at least V1.2 spec ??

Please help.

I take back what I said. The 1440p throws me off. The adapters would work just fine in 1080p. To get 1440p from mini-dp to dvi, the dvi end needs to be dual-link. It appears they are active adapters:
