Just bought 4 brand new BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 A/S from Kal Tire. They had it cheaper than 1010tires and cheaper than tire rack after currency conversion and delivery charge. Kal Tire even offers a 5% price beat guarantee. Costco had the same tires for like a buck less, I copied and pasted the link to them and saved another $35! Very simple and no need to drive across the border. |
just bumping an old thread. if anyone is looking for regular tires, canadian tire is having a spring sale (conditions apply). some of the prices are good, others not so much so shop and compare. this is a in-store clearance event of what they have on their racks so it's different for each location: https://www.canadiantire.ca/content/...13_Homepage_en |
A note about Kal Tire 5% price beat. It does not apply to Costco rebate. <- Just ordered BFG G Force Sport Comp from Costco.ca |
national tire in delta is having their annual parking lot sale for regular stuff... the one time i was there it was mostly generic or chinese brands so i dunno if it's any good these days: http://www.nationaltirewholesale.com..._Lot-SALE.html |

Looked everywhere and nobody could beat their price. It may be ~$50 CAD cheaper if I go through discount tires in the states but factor in time and gas and maybe customs it's definitely not worth it with our exchange rate. |
I did not enjoy the BFG GForce Sport Comp 2. They were loud, wore fast, and had a soft widewall. On topic, I recently jumped on the Costco bandwagon for tire searching but missed out on the Bridgestone rebate. Went to my trusty friends at The Speed Syndicate to find a new tire they are promoting, Kumho PS91. Looking forward to testing them out for the May 14th track day at the Ridge. Have seen mixed-good results for this cheater tire, giving cheap cost, high treadwear for what they are, great dry grip and hard sidewall. Replacing my Federal 595RSR. |
I won't comment on the Kumho PS91 specifically since I have not tried it myself, but in the past, I've been disappointed by their offerings a number of times. The biggest letdown was the Kumho XS where the tire just completely falls flat on its face at the slightest trace of dampness. So colour me highly skeptical of their products. Currently, a really, really good budget performance tire is the Firestone Indy 500 (not to be confused with the Wide Oval Indy 500). The tire is really a rebranded N.American release of the Bridgestone RE003, and it is excellent under most performance driving conditions. It can't compete with any of the 200TW tires, but it compares well against the next grade of high performance summer tires in both the dry and the wet. Best of all, it sells at roughly 70% of what the benchmark tire of the class -- Michelin Pilot Super Sports -- sells for, while delivering more than 90% of the performance. |
