Today the court of appeals upheld his conviction of perjury after he had appealed the charge citing, essentially, the other officers in question lied and got off so why can't he as well, yet more tax dollars spent on bringing this guy in and out of court.

Perjury conviction upheld for former Mountie linked to Dziekanski case - NEWS 1130

The Dziekanski case is a whole massive can of worms and happened over 10 years ago with our tax dollars drawing out this peice of shits continued appeals and court dates.

However, I hope no one forgets that this fucking peice of trash killed a 21 year old kid on a motorcycle in an alleged impaired driving incident where he says he went home and drank before going back to the crash due to the stress?

Essentially got away with impaired vehicular homicide because of his standing as an RCMP officer, albeit a suspended one at the time I beleive.

*edit, upon further reading he's also tied up public resources in suing the RCMP for "ruining his career and not providing further funding for his legal aid in the tazering case..

People like this don't deserve forgiveness.

Agreed, this guy is a complete scumbag IMO. Hopefully he gets cancer and dies a slow painful death.

so this person is a rcmp during that time and he got into a accident due to drinking and driving. Because he was a officer. He got a lighter sentence and now hes suing the rcmp because he got fired?

fuck it, we can sacrifice some resources so this guy can suffer.

He did NOT get a lesser sentence because he's an RCMP officer, but he knew the laws very well and was able to manipulate the situation into one where the burden of proof was on the prosecution and they didn't have any. That's a very different thing than being shown favourtism. Anyone who knew the laws could get away with the same tricks.

GLOW 01-12-2017 07:26 AM

the law now changed due to that so that you can't pull the get in to an accident and whip out a bottle in public and start chugging to dodge the charge correct?

His face has douchebag written all over it.

flagella 01-12-2017 08:37 AM

Just to add to 68style's comments. The conviction was for Obstruction of Justice, not impaired driving causing death. The lesser sentence was not for being an RCMP officer, it was a consideration for being aboriginal as per S.7182(e) of the Criminal Code.

Makes total sense........... less taxes, free post secondary education, easier entrance requirements, why not lesser sentence?

Having said that, I'm totally fine with it. Wouldn't switch places for all the gold in Tasmania........... they've got it tough.
