Equifax is cheap enough already and is 100% safe

I don't like this part of the agreement.

"I understand that I am instructing Credit Karma or its affiliated companies to request and receive copies of consumer reports, scores and related information about me from TransUnion (PO Box 338 LDC1, Hamilton, ON L8L 7W2). I understand that my instructions let Credit Karma and affiliated companies obtain such information at any time for as long as I have a registered Credit Karma account to use as described in theTerms of Use and Privacy Policy."

Edit: The reason it concerns me and the way I read it is you're giving them permission to access your credit even if you don't request it at any time for any reason they see fit. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it reads to me.

It's even free if you aren't in a rush and mail or fax in the form.

I use Mogo, sends me an update every month.

Harvey Specter 01-12-2017 11:32 AM

Mogo is good as well.

Creditkarma has been around for years in the US so it's legit. Huge thread over on redflagdeals regrading the Canadian version: Credit Karma now also in Canada - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

The free credit report from Transunion and Equifax doesn't give you the score though. Just the report.

Nlkko 01-12-2017 11:49 AM

These guys give you free score, to try and sell you other services (loans, mortgage, credit cards). That's how they monetize it; get a large base of non-paying customer, then entice a portion of that to paid services.
