Any place familiar with flashing Xiaomi?

I recently got an Xiaomi from Hk, but since it has been flashed with none China official rom, to allow YouTube and play store. It sometimes has pop up ads and apps get auto installed. Anyone know of a place that is familiar with the roms to flash to a proper one? I've already asked my go to guy Bill Tan but he says he can't do it. Thanks BibleThump

Depends on your model. This is the site I use to find roms.

It's a Mi max. Is it hard to do? I've never done it. Worry about bricking the phone

Helpful thread.

I have rooted many phones: Nexus 3,4,5,6P, OnePlus One, 2. My Galaxy S7 Edge still under warranty so havent flashed it
All was relatively easy.
Make sure to read all the rooting guides and if you understand, ASK the question of what you dont understand before flashing anything.

I think OP has never flashed a rom before and is anxious about it. If you got an old phone laying around, I'd try flashing on that first.

Heres a couple videos on flashing..

So I was screwing around yesterday and I was disabling apps and deleting app data Cuz I noticed pop ups are getting worse every time I connect to wifi and my apps get updated. The phone was working fine until I tried the camera then it just said loading error and wouldn't start. The Camara still worked on what's app and snap chat. So I turned off the phone. Then after that the phone got stuck at the mi logo with Android loading for like 4 hours as I just left it and went out for dinner. Then when I got home I tried to get into edl mode to flash it. I got the flash working but there was some flash miss match but the status bar was full but status was still flashing. I left it over night as some people said it can take a while but I left it over night and never finished. I tried to do it a few times again in fast boot mode but it now says sbl error and won't even begin to flash. I checked I have the correct rom. Even tried China rom but won't flash. What can I do now? Phone shops are closed today. Anyone know where I can take it to fix?

DragonChi 04-16-2017 01:13 PM

Have you rooted your phone and got adb working?

JDMDreams 04-16-2017 02:03 PM

Nope I haven't tried to do anything till it crapped out on my last night

DragonChi 04-16-2017 02:04 PM

If you haven't done anything with your phone's ROM. Then I would call Xiaomi to get the phone warrantied.

JDMDreams 04-16-2017 02:57 PM

Not sure if I can Cuz my cousin bought it somewhere in Hk

asian_XL 04-16-2017 05:54 PM

dude, your phone is still not flashed?

post the model number (Setting-->About phone -->model number)

Euro7r 04-16-2017 06:07 PM

I am thinking about ordering a Huawei P9 Lite/Xiaomi Redmi online for my uncle/dad. But not sure if these roms will cause any issues with working compatibility with apps to be used in Canada?

JDMDreams 04-16-2017 06:48 PM

Asian xl, my phone wouldn't even boot now. Mi max 64gb last time I looked at the settings said it was the global rom. But probably some none official hacked version

asian_XL 04-17-2017 02:51 AM

how come it won't boot? did you brick it or it just won't charged? can you do the following?

hold power button + down volumn = fastboot (green android robot)
hold power button + up volume = recovery (either TWRP or CWM)

Fastboot (every xiaomi should come with it)
https://mikethegoat.files.wordpress....tboot-logo.jpg
Recovery (TWRP, many online shops will install recovery rom)

JDMDreams 04-17-2017 04:26 PM

Nothing happens when I try to go into recovery. Power +volume up button, it just takes me to this black screen with mi phone in white outline and wants me to plug cable in. I can get into fast boot and it will connect to mi flash but it just says sbl error and won't flash

FerrariEnzo 04-17-2017 06:40 PM

LOL... you have to flash a custom recovery from the sounds of it.

JDMDreams 04-17-2017 06:50 PM

Can you guys recommend any place to do it? I've called 2 about flashing and they don't do it. I used the recovery? Mode mi phone with cable plug in screen along with mipcsuite. It says it was updating the software and phone was Restarting when complete but it's been booting for like 30 min and nothing happens.

asian_XL 04-18-2017 04:37 AM

I could flash it for you for a beer if you are in HK.

if you have another camera, post photo of the recovery screen.

if you have extra time to understand how it works and you can read chinese...here you go or use google translate

JDMDreams 04-19-2017 08:59 PM

OK this first image is first time trying to flash with miflash

This is with mipcsuite

The phone does not have a official recovery mode from what I've read online all the is is this screen

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...PzZlotrBoCe3eu

And I'm able to get into fast boot mode
