Average price to get radiator hose replaced?

2008 g35x infiniti.
There was signs of leakage and i was recommend to get it replaced soon. I was quoted 170 at the dealer.

Parts online seem to be 60~$ for upper and lower hose.

I would try DIY but I dont think I can efficiently change the lower hose without a jack.

Recommend a shop? or is 170$ a fair-ish charge for such a job. I wonder if I bring my own parts, if its cheaper.

$170 doesn't sound too bad once you factor in labour, coolant, and the time to burp it properly, that said I never go to a dealership for work. Check out the sponsors on here. Most shops won't let you supply your own parts.

If you don't have an oil pan, or sufficient tools, you'll probably be in for over $170 by the time your done..... But next time your in the green!

I hate working on cooling systems. I would gladly pay $170.

$110 for labour and coolant seems pretty good, especially for a dealership.

Make sure the price they quoted includes parts. If so it's fair price. Oem Coolant is not cheap.

Stick with oem. I got aftermarket hose supposedly direct fit, but ended up having to trim it down.

That's from mid price indie shop....

I'd say $170 ($110 labor) from a dealer is a pretty good deal..not worth shopping around to save $20-$30.

Btw...consider your car age...maybe check the other hoses as well.
I feel like once those hose reach a certain age they start failing all together. I just had a lower hose replaced few months ago...then my upper hose and expansion tank hose start leaking last week.

Will probably save you some labor if they do all the hoses together vs doing them separately.

Some think it's a waste replacing parts that are ok, but I see it as piece of mind and cheap insurance.

Agreed! Once you get a new hose/rad etc. other places in the system will show their weakness and begin to leak shortly thereafter. Always best to apply the shotgun approach to cooling system parts. That's how I prevent paying for labor twice as well as reducing downtime.

I just replaced lower radiator hose yesterday. I did it myself and spend total of $50 for hose, coolant, and clamps.
