Witnesses needed for car accident - 12th and Clark, 9:20am

happened today with myself as a driver on 12th and clark heading northbound on the left lane at 9:20am 4/17/2017

red SCION FRS is my car, I got rear ended by a dark colour chrysler 300 on a red light, I found the license plate number and it was confirmed drug dealers (and found the registered owner to the vehicle according to VPD)

any witnesses can help me with my case would be grateful. Car is probably totald lost... or $10k-$15k in repair which is stupidly expensive for a 2014 version :(

thanks :okay:

twitchyzero 04-17-2017 10:56 AM

having witnesses is never a bad idea, but i dont see why your insurance would be affected if you were rear-ended and got a plate number regardless of who was driving the other car?

Verdasco 04-17-2017 11:09 AM

just never got into a big accident like this before :okay:

always want the max info i can get :okay:

and my back is already messed up 3 hours post :okay:

jpark 04-17-2017 11:17 AM

sorry to hear. How bad was the damage on the chrysler? So this is a hit and run? or they just not admitting fault. A bit confused by your post

The Producer 04-17-2017 11:35 AM

you already have a 10-15k repair quote in 3 hours?

You got rear ended - just call ICBC and let them take care of everything..

EDIT: also - go to a walk-in clinic and get checked out.

yup, hit and run and never found the driver, just witnesses. VPD said license plate matches drug dealing and found the registered owner... just not the driver because they said anyone could be driving it

I hate that intersection with a passion, as my mom was hit and run with a stolen van about 13 years ago.

The suspect literally fled on foot and jumped over peoples' fences, the liability was left with my mom.

I hope everything goes much more smoothly for you.

was the car that hit yours debadged?

and call MMJ on the corner (604) 559-3229

they must have cameras

SSM_DC5 04-17-2017 02:42 PM

sorry to hear about your accident.

From what you've told us so far, I don't think you need to keep looking for more information on the other party. You have a plate and the VPD already confirmed who the registered owner is. ICBC will deal with getting the money from the other party.

What you need to do now is DO NOT tell icbc that you are "fine" because you're clearly not. You said your back is messed up, so go to a doctor TODAY. Doesn't matter if it's your regular GP, or a walk-in clinic. What you need to do is have the Doctor create documentations of your injuries should you need to present it to ICBC.

Damn, sorry to hear. Get well soon and hope everything turns out okay for you.

^^
Go to a clinic/family doctor fast and have it documented.. let the doctor know of the accident.

vantrip 04-17-2017 07:47 PM

You have the plate and that good enough, rest is up to the police to find out who was driving or charge the registered owner with hit and run.

how come if you run a red light and the camera takes a picture, icbc can send you a picture and the registered owner has to pay for the ticket but if you have videos/pictures of a car breaking the law, the cops cant do anything about it because they cant prove who the driver is

Ah, but you get out of points on your license if you say you weren't driving, which is key.

icbc should just fine the registered owner of the car and leave the points, they would probably make more money doing that but icbc seems to love hiking our rates instead
