dude that's pretty dumb.

that's like saying if i bought a gold bar for 1000 bux, and the market price is 500 bux now, i don't lose anything until i sell it for below 1000 bux.

Maybe he's only assuming that most people own one home? I see it how you see it. At the end of the day the Asset is worth $500 bucks but the Liability is $1000

It's dumb to buy a house to flip it. If you lose money if the housing market crashes, then that's the risk that was assumed if you're going to play the game.

If you buy a house to live in it. Sure, you may have paid a bit more, but in the long run, the housing prices will recover over a 20 year period. As the prices in the 80s/90s have shown.

No one know when the next crash will happen... but the scripts for such times could be written in classic cartoons or movies for all we know... like this Ducktales cartoon.

Blue Collar Scrooge
Synopsis
"Scrooge gets amnesia and gets a job at one of his own factories. There, he is outraged by the working conditions at McDuck Industries and convinces the workers to go on strike. "

A house of cards comes falling down when Trump calls...

Picking out trash for food

Living in trailers

Yeah I know it don't make much sense but for some reason it seems like it belongs in this thread. To be continued or if you wanna follow along I suggest downloading the classic, "Fritz the Cat".

There's clearly a market for it, and is making a lot of money for people. So I wouldn't say flipping houses is dumb. Just like buying a cheap car and reselling it on the market at the appropriate price. :troll:

It's dumb to buy a house to flip and if the housing market crashes, then bitch about it for losing money. That's dumb.

:fuckyea:

Now this is an awesome reference. I remember as a kid finding the Fritz VHS tape in the VCR and playing it. When my mom walked in she freaked out on me, then really let me dad have it.

You sir, made my day with this.

:lol

How much different is this compared to buying $100k worth of t-shirts and not being able to sell them?

Business is business. There is liability regardless of what you're selling.

DragonChi 05-03-2017 10:02 AM

There is no difference.
