My buddy lifted a toilet out before for first time ever, you could probably learn off youtube.

You could always call the manufacturer to see if its covered under warranty and an ETA for replacement. Then see if your landlord is willing to accept that timeline.

If not and you need to replace it. Toilets are quite easy and not as dirty as people imagine..

Just make sure you replace the wax ring and when you seat the toilet that you properly seat it or else there may be leaks/smells.. But again its super easy if you're taking your time. I helped changed toilets with my uncle in our rental suites when I was 15. So you shouldn't have any issues with the help of youtube.

If you have a bill of sale contact the manufacture and ask whats the procedure is.
If you do not have a bill of sale you will most likely be Sol and you cannot prove date of purchase.
Good Luck
