Threshold about.... 1 hour I said? Use to drive to Richmond everyday on knight bridge during rush hour.... LOL

one thing about knight street bridge is that it keeps moving. even if its 1km/hr unlike some other bridges...

did the commute from Broadway and Rupert to Shell and Cambie business complex. 35-45 minutes for 2 years.

SW Marine dr closure added at least 20min each of my ways, because 41st turned into parking, everyday, day or night! :swear:
what is up with closing all SW neighborhood, including 49th?
They went hard core to keep out non locals from detouring around that neighborhood.
windshield decals for local traffics, and putting VPD road checks at every major intersections.
Rich folks there really doesn't want too many traffics in their precious neighborhood?

^ wtf

local decals and VPD road check?
that's a huge fucking waste of money if true

TouringTeg 06-12-2017 08:50 AM

^ I was curious if there was decals for local traffic and came up with this:

Road work closes part of Southwest Marine Drive in Vancouver until September - British Columbia - CBC News

The road checks are true for sure. I had to take my son to a football tournament at UBC a few weeks back and found out about it unexpectedly and first hand.

I seldom go west of the Fraser, that really hit home like why the fuck our we even out this way, I hate this fucking place and this traffic can suck my dick. My 11 year old was the voice of reason, Dad calm down we'll go the long way it's fine if we're late. Lol, not one of my better moments.

Live near richmond center, work in south surrey.
To work 30-35 mins
From work 45-50 mins

worse ever was when there was a massive accident at massey tunne and alex fraser.

i stayed around work till 8 and it was still heavy traffic.

!e.lo_ 06-12-2017 11:01 AM

From North Delta to Richmond
Car:
30-120 min (yes, if there's a few accidents, it takes about two hours)
Motorcycle:
15-20 min

Richmond to ND
Car: 30-50+ min
Motorcycle:
20-30 min

I usually takes Alex Fraser and HWY 91.
Sometimes I'll go home HOV HWY 99, HWY 17.

ahh...the voice of reason
still have yet to experience that burning rage of being stuck in a jam in Vancouver

I went out to lunch with my parents in South Van this weekend, late lunch too...and I thought it was gonna be a breeze

but nope
literally took me 15 minutes from my door in PoCo to Grandview exit
then 30+ fucking minutes from there to 45th and Fraser
fuck Vancouver sideways

hal0g0dv2 06-12-2017 07:16 PM

Victoria :p

Near coquitlam center to just over the 2nd narrows bridge, taking the barnet and hastings in HOV.

takes about 20-25mins to get to work, we leave at 6:20am

I leave work around 3:30pm, and we generally head straight to our gym near silvercity coquitlam right around 4pm. thankfully i'm the first exit to get onto the highway forming from dollarton so I don't have to deal with main street

vexor 06-13-2017 03:40 PM

5 minutes if I hit all green lights, 10 min if not

Mancini 06-14-2017 11:35 AM

30-35 in.
45 home.

HOME TO WORK?

WORK TO HOME?

TRANSIT or CAR?

...and in your opinion, where is 'YOUR' threshold? i.e. if it takes more than an hour, it isn't worth it to me.

Home to work - 35 to 45 mins

Work to Home - 35 to 45 mins

If there is an accident then I stay at work doing extra work unless there's an errand I can run near my work or try to do last minute meet-up with friends nearby.

Car

There is no threshold for me. The only place I can afford is where I reside and I commute to a job I like and works out with my lifestyle choices.

ssjGoku69 06-15-2017 12:06 AM

leave @ 8:00 am: 15 minute drive
leave @ 8:10 am: 25-30 minute drive

Skittlez160 06-15-2017 09:47 AM

Argyle & 57th, Vancouver to Lougheed & 207th, Maple Ridge

Car

Morning:
Leave home at 6:55am (+/- 5mins), arrive at work 7:40am (+/- 5mins)

Afternoon:
Leave work at 5:00pm (+/- 5mins), arrive at home 6:00 (+/- 5mins)

Been doing it for 9 1/2 years. Quite the improvement after Hwy. 1 and the Pitt Meadows Bridge was upgraded. Prior to that it was quite a bit more.

Mikoyan 06-15-2017 09:56 AM

Victoria & 49th to Willingdon & Canada Way area.
Morning: ~20 minutes
Afternoon: ~25-30 minutes

+/- 5 mins or so, usually less as I'm at work by 7am, off at 3pm, so I beat most of the traffic. If I get stuck past 3, then 30-40 mins back home.

During the snow? +1hr. I've had to backtrack to Royal Oak before to avoid the traffic snarls.

jinxcrusader 06-15-2017 03:47 PM

PNE Area to/from Tsawwassen - ~30 mins with no traffic. Typically 1.5 hours with traffic (George Massey Tunnel and Knight Street Bridge)

UFO 06-16-2017 11:38 PM

Did Coquitlam around Austin and Mariner to Richmond Hospital, usually have to leave at 645am to get in just a bit before my start at 8, unless there are any accidents. Coming home at 430pm, initially took about 50 minute when we first moved to Coquitlam 2.5yrs ago. Then it hit an hr, then 1:15-1:30 even 1:45 if there is even a hint of rain on the ground. My love of the job masked how bad the commute was, I left after 3 years and the commute was a part of that decision.

I work in East Van now, commute time is typically 35- 40 minutes both ways. Don't like the job as much, but I can't imagine going back to the old commute.

Badhobz 06-17-2017 09:15 AM

West Richmond to downtown. About 35 mins if I leave at 0700. If I leave at 0800 it's closer to 55mins

messupdude 06-18-2017 06:07 PM

Car 1 min from the barracks to the squadron parking lot.

1 hour each way. If there is any kind of back up (accident, inclement weather, speed trap) it can easily double

Spoiler!

MattUA 06-18-2017 10:17 PM

An hour and a half each way. Hopefully I can purchase a car soon to cut the commute in half.

Ronin 06-19-2017 01:54 AM

15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. 10-ish KM through Richmond...
