I'm so confused with the new names, there's like gx tx now? But still lx? They have like 6? SUVs? If you throw in the rz. Rx has a billion models and l version.

I feel like they are doing a Infiniti, Acura when they changed their name structure and ruined their brand

That's a good thing - the CT had hella head gasket issues.

My mom turned down the standard RAV4 Hybrid and RX Hybrids - apparently the engine was "too loud for a new car" and so we're waiting for for a plugin NX/RAV.

RX, LX and GX have been around forever. The TX is the successor to the RX-L, and RZ is their EV.

RX, GX, LX has been around forever. RX is uprated Highlander, GX is LC Prado, LX is big LC.

The TX replaces the RXL which was their 7 seat version of the RX, which means TX will be an uprated Grand Highlander.

NX is their mid size offering that started awhile ago which is similar to the Rav4/Venza.

yes they've gone insane. I honestly will not buy another lexus product nowadays. The ratrolla is the last one im willing to purchase unless they bring over the LM mini van thingy.

Even the LX has gone v6 twin turbo instead of the usual v8. :heckno:

that TX is basically the Grand Highlander and both of those are North American models only (also built in USA only) so not a global car.

I think LS and LC will be the only ones I buy assuming they were still made in Japan? Does the GS still exist? Is is too small and I don't want fwd

jcmaz 11-23-2023 09:08 PM

GS is gone. It was a weird product since the ES (upscaled Avalon) did the whole luxury comfort sedan thing much better than the GS.

bcrdukes 11-23-2023 09:08 PM

The GS was discontinued a while ago and it was RWD or AWD, not FWD. The only FWD sedan in the Lexus lineup is the ES and they are made in Canada I think.

Toyota Tahara Plant (Tahara, Japan): Lexus LS, IS, GX, LX, & RC
Toyota Yoshiwara Plant (Toyota, Aichi, Japan): Lexus LX
Toyota Motor Kyushu (Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan): Lexus UX
Toyota Miyata Plant (Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan): Lexus IS & ES
Toyota Motomachi Plant (Toyota, Aichi, Japan): Lexus LC
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Inc. (Cambridge, Ontario, Canada): Lexus NX, NX Hybrid, RX, & RX Hybrid
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. (Georgetown, Kentucky, United States): Lexus ES

Don’t buy an ES NX TX or RX. Those are all made in North America. The rest are still built in Japan. With the LC being built in motomachi. Aka flagship plant, same plant where the GR ratrolla comes from and the Toyota crown / century and previously the LFA.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=Q940i...ature=youtu.be

Motomachi is some hardcore shit. Staffed by takumi’s that come from the lesser Japanese factory.
I’m gonna go tour that factory next year and see them produce LCs in person. Also gonna see if they have some cool Toyota swag to pickup.

jcmaz 11-23-2023 09:12 PM

What about the NX Prime? My RAV4 Prime is made in Nippon and has a J vin

Badhobz 11-23-2023 09:36 PM

I don’t think the NX phev is out yet. All other NXs for North America are made locally. Not Japanese unfortunately

The NX 450h+ PHEV has been out for quite for a while now but is hard to get, though easier than the RAV4 Prime. The RX and TX also have PHEV options, but they're $$$$.

definitely keeping my eye on the gx overtrail... especially when they release the hybrid.

price leak

The NX PHEV is 90k+ out the door. At the price point it's hard to justify. But my brother and a friend both bought them.....

JDMDreams 11-24-2023 08:41 AM

Must be nice to still afford new cars in this marketFeelsBadMan

Badhobz 11-24-2023 09:08 AM

at the rates they currently want, i dont know how anyone could. Like when i was doing my ratrolla purchase, they wanted 4.9% and i was like laughing cuz 0 down, the montlhy would have been $2500 bucks.

Now its at 8.9% and that monthly is like almost $2900 a month with 0 down and throughout a 48 month lease, you'll be paying like 40k worth of interest alone.

JDMDreams 11-24-2023 12:22 PM

I was doing like a Integra Type S payment for shits and giggles, and it was like $73000 after tax and the payments were like $1300 a month at like 7% for a fucking civic:fulloffuck: before gas + insurance

The optional executive package is an additional $16,550, that's a lot of money

sigh... 73k used to be brand new e90 m3 money.

Harvey Specter 11-24-2023 02:48 PM

Yup, MSRP's have gone up for all manufacturers. I purchased my 2021 X5, fully loaded for around $87k and at that time BMW was offering 1.9% + loyalty reductions. Now the same X5 has a MSRP of close to $90k before options.

And high rates will likely stick around for high demand cars.

I think for most of the time it's been available, you can't get it without the executive package. Toyota and Lexus don't do custom order, you get what the factory produces and they all came loaded. You only get to pick exterior colour.

My F80 M3 still started at 72k. But I think I've only seen ONE base car in Vancouver. There was a Silverstone on cloth with manual, no parking sensors no nothing.

You could still get 1.9 two years ago? BMW is doing 5.99 now which isn't terrible considering the land of 8%. Mazda is doing 4.5.

I miss the days of paying 0.24% on our X3. I can't even lease a M340 now with the payments I had on my M3.

Everything's gone up dramatically so it's not surprising. I helped someone spec a '23 X7 as a lease-end replacement with similar options and it's $35k more + luxury tax - he ended up buying out his lease instead.

I always assumed the base NX450+ was spec'd just to get the incentive - don't think there was motivation to offer it when there's issues with supply chain and a big wait list.

Think there was a base F80 M3 6MT in Yas Marina Blue - not sure if it's still in the lower mainland nowadays.

Yup, my dad purchased a brand new 330i in 2021 when I purchased my X5 and I believe he's paying 1.49%. This was with the loyalty rate reduction. He's paid a close to a $100 YTD lol.

The 4.99% is on select inventory but I received an e-mail from BJBMW offering 1.9% on a new 7 series demo.
