Maybe it is... seems trollish

i watch a lot of sailing channels on youtube....dreams of buying a boat and sailing away...

there's a few of them who make MAJOR money just filming their daily lives and making money

one couple ended up buying a million dollar catamaran (but they've sold out and i don't watch them anymore)

there's another (originally from seattle) who make awesome videos and are still down to earth...they've been gone for 7 years now just sailing around enjoying life

both have patreon accounts and ask for donations to "pay for the videos" and they sure aren't the only ones. every tom, dick and harry with a gopro and drone now make these videos and ask for money to support their early retirement lifestyles.

I'm not going to fail you but it kind of sounds like your pissed that people are making money streaming and you're not. You believe in your heart of hearts what you do online is more work and of greater value but subscribers are voting with their wallets for other streamers who don't have the talent or put in the work you do because of the way they look.

Obviously, there are people who text all the time, but you know, there are some people who use their phone for things other than social media. When I went to van yesterday, I was using my phone a lot to gather info about a catted mid-pipe setup and was communicating with the seller. Some people have to watch stock market on their phone closely, so I wouldn't generalize everyone.

Nothing excuses using a phone while driving, though. That's just bad.

And I don't think professional streamers have a very good lifestyle from what I have seen. They have to eat fast food a lot, and have pretty messed up schedule.

For guys to be decently successful streamers, you actually have to be good at games. Are you near pro level? If not, find a different venture. Either that or become a fucking meme.

Here is advice on whoring yourself out to potentially more viewers. Become active in some twitch communities, join their discords, make a name for yourself. Some allow for selling out your own twitch channel. If you are well received, some people will come watch you.

Almost any idiot these days can get twitch affiliate within a week or two.

This city is full of hostile and bitter people and it's gotten worst as the divide between the middle class and rich is getting wider. For example, I've seen people in DT get physically angry at people with nice cars. It's happen to me where people yell stuff or flip you the middle finger for no apparent reason. And these aren't drug addicts, they're normal people of all ages.

I feel the issue in Vancouver, where things have changed in the past 10 years due to skyrocketing RE, boils down to some people who have been left behind but think they're entitled to live in Vancouver, make a certain amount of money and own certain type of things just because. Instead you should man the fuck up and do something with your life if you're not happy with your money situation. Not everyone who's "made it" or has money got it from mommy and daddy, a lot people have had to make major sacrifices and work very, very hard to get where they are and it surely didn't involve sitting online and bitching about other people.

This isn't a new phenomenon. My grandfather's numerous Jaguar XJ-S' were vandalized many times in the 80's and 90's. He would park on Commercial drive (back when it was an Italian enclave) and there were times he would come out to find his Jaguar emblem missing, a broken window, or find his hood keyed.

Vancouver has always held animosity against the haves because the city has always been filled with have-nots. Like you said, it has become worse and probably won't be getting any better anytime soon.

I work part-time at Metrotown mall while taking classes at night in the hopes I can get a good job through the trades program. On the other hand, we have Tumblr types you know the people of that ilk studying for worthless liberal arts degrees. Revseen, please don't use gofundme or patreon unless it's for a noble cause. The only people who should be receiving donations are those with life threatening conditions or disasters like the recent BC Forest Fires. We have alt-right and neo-nazi groups using these platforms to spread hatred and to fund their terrorist organizations. Women who think their shit don't stink are looking for handouts because they believe working for an honest dollar is beneath them.
