Rat/mice bate box Been in my current house for about 1y7m and have seen 2 rats(dead). I have had a company (not sure I can post there name not trying to promote them but pm me and I can give you the name). Great service very reasonably priced came and closed all possible entry points. My question for fellow memembers is do you have any residential bate box around the outside of your house? I know rats/mice part of life but feel awkward having box around the house gives the impression to visitors that this house has rat/mice problem. Am I just over thinking this. Thank you for your input |
Just put traps where you see rat shit. there's no way to completely block them out, they can fit anywhere and will find a way in. |
Do you care more what visitors think or having a rodent problem? |
Having a rodent free house/yard is the goal. I just wanted to see if people have box set up in there yards |
This should help. Link to buy it in the YouTube description as well as his other traps |
Rat/mice bate box The glue traps sold at Chinese shops work very well. They are about the size of 2 8x 11 sheets of paper. Cost $1 each. You can find at stores in Victoria and 41. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Please be careful with traps outdoors. Birds and cats can get in them. |
My bait box is called my car... every winter, those bastards get in there and crap all over the engine. They chew the wires and eat the foam. It's another reason why I trade the car in when the warranty expires. Next owner's problem. I was never able to catch one. I've tried traps, poisons, repellants. |
Have two traps setting up in the backyard for rat/mice. My yard is clean, they usually come from my neighbour house as it's literally filled with junk and crap. I usually put a little left over bbq meat and it falls for it most of the times. |
With traps it's about placement. I've trapped ones with unbaited traps on occasion. Rats are smart enough to trip the standard wooden snap traps too. I've had a few that have fallen for the trap, but about the same amount have tripped it and eaten the bait. There's a jaws of life style one as well. But they quick. I had one last time that had their front leg snapped/broken at the shoulder and trapped. Had to put that one out of its misery with a pellet pistol. =P. Block off the entry points the best you can. |
