Ethical car salesmens/dealerships

Hi All,

I recently entered the exciting world of car sales and am somewhat okay with it so far. However, the dealership I'm working for (surprise, surprise) consists of scumbag management. I often find myself internally conflicting against myself and their needs/demands.

I'm really not ready to give up on this new career choice yet, but I was wondering, is there any ones out there that are not scum and do business ethically, or is it just all part of the game to be deceitful.

I don't want to leave just yet because I want to build my stats/resume/experience/skills so I can potentially jump ship into a luxury brand, but if the opportunity arises I will do so without hesitation.

You'll find scumbags wherever you work. If you jump to a luxury brand, you'll most likely have even more snotty scumbag managers.

At the end of the day it's competition. Intra-office and inter-office you'll have scumbags internally or externally either giving you grief or stealing your clients. The only thing you can change is your own self and situation. Don't like the scene, then change it up. Life's too short to be stuck in a place where you feel like shit all the time.

Honest.

Car dealership sales, always gonna be haters internally. Competitive environment because you need to sell to make money.

If things are really that bad and you hate going to work, start looking at other dealerships for work opportunities while you are employed, that way you don't have too much gap in between where you make $0. If money is no issue, then screw it, leave lol.

Welcome to the world of a salesperson, where nothing matters except for numbers and bragging rights.

Talk to tofu, he seems to be doing well at it and has a good relationship with RS'ers selling and buying their cars.

The other salesman are fine. Its the managers that I have a problem with. They aren't assholes or pricks to me or anything like that. But I feel sometimes they're deceptive and unethical. Just wanted to see if all sales managers are like this, or is there a couple unicorns out there.

Managers are only concerned with one thing...the bottom line.

If you aren't selling, then your wasting space and the dealerships time. If you can't turn a looker into a buyer, then you need to move on.

They'll also throw all the other departments under the bus just to make the sale and cover their own ass too!

Okay, great, they aren't assholes or pricks to you, but they have targets to meet. If they can't do it someone else will have to. You will not find a single sales manager out there who isn't deceptive or unethical to make the bottom line numbers work; they would have been chewed up and thrown out for playing the "nice guy" by going by the book all the time.
