Getting time of a Canadian L license. I currently do have my l drivers license hear at British Columbia at canada and i would like to know if there is any way i could get time of my l driver license for waiting to sit a road test? I do not want to wait a 12 month period until i sit a road test with ICBC So that i can get an N License?. Is there any way i can have to wait for a lesser time? I am 23 years old and i have lived in canada for the past three years and i am a university student. I do know as well that i was supposed to have my L license earlier than this. But Please do not judge me about that. Thank you. |

Sorry man, im going to judge you, and say you should have got your L at 16. "i dont need it" |
Why should you have to wait a shorter amount of time than the rest of us did? |
Since you are a university student, you should already have this: Might as well use it for all it is worth, you know? |
AFAIK, there is no way to speed up the L license period in BC. It sucks, but we all go through it. I remember going to a pub and all of my friends taking out their green cards while I still had my red, LOL. Quote:
The last line, though. So true. I kept telling my friends who don't have a license to not think that way. Better to have at least an N kicking around than a useless BC Card or a practically useless L. |

You could look at some driver training courses thru an accredited ICBC school? Driver training Spoiler! |
Young Drivers program used to fast track...can't recall if it's from L to N or N to Class 5 dont know if that's still a thing Quote:

I believe it was to fast track having your N to Class 5. However, don't know if such programs exist anymore. |
If you would click his link you would have your answer.. Get six months off graduated licensing Driver training can help get you your full licence sooner. If you take an ICBC -approved (GLP) driver training course, and are a safe driver with no at-fault crashes, driving violations or prohibitions, you could receive six months off your N stage. You could also get two grade 11 high school credits. Your approved driver training course must be completed within a one year period from start to finish while in the learner stage of GLP. :okay: Quote:

You must have your L for 12 months...unless you have a valid licence from some other location. Depending on where it is issued you could just swap it for a BC DL...or you may need to go thru some academic or practical testing...or a combination of both. Your age has nothing to do with it, your ability to drive according to BC rules does. |
