Has anyone else noticed a sudden surge in their data usage since updating to the latest iOS?

how much of a surge are you noticing?

Not that I've noticed on my iPhone 7.

I use Dataflow and it comes with a data usage widget.

Battery life is the major one. I’ve made a bunch of adjustments via YouTube tech video recommendations but it still drains battery like a mofo. I keep screen brightness below average as well. I’m just going to assume this is update is geared toward frustrating iPhone 7 users into buying an 8 or 10.

The only problem i've come across so far on my tablet is it refusing to auto rotate properly. The solution for this so far was to turn rotate lock on then off.

Regarding battery useage, there is an explanation for the spike. It is apparently a normal thing when a new OS comes out.

My wife got a notice from rogers that she was reaching her data limit of 5 gigs only 11/2 weeks into the month. She always uses wifi when home, so this is completely out of the norm.

^^ there’s a setting that uses data to supplement wifi if the signal is not as strong as it could be. Make sure you turn that off or you will use data without even knowing it.

I’ve only noticed two problems so far on my 8+

- my Fitbit blaze refuses to give me notifications from Snapchat. Worked just fine on my iPhone 6 and all my other notifications work, just not Snapchat. Reset, reset, re pair, toggle on and off etc. Nothing works

- sometimes while watching *ahem* videos... on my 8+ the video with be kind of zoomed in. As if the video was shot in portrait (even if tnwasnt) and it zooms in to try to fill the screen while watching in landscape. Doesn’t happen consistently so hard to pinpoint the cause

Airplay using youtube or any other media is hit or miss.

My battery life on my 5S went to shit. Even just idling in my locker, used to be about 82% when I got off work, now around 30%.

My 7+ Siri won’t work no matter what I do :/

Sometimes it's unresponsive with simple gestures. Emailing can be a bitch sometimes cause i can't highlight the text. Fuck.

IOS 11 allowed my app store to update using data. Get your wife to check that.

ipad air2, laggy after ios upgrade.

Bf updated my mini ipad and now sometimes the volume goes silent even when its on max... Happens randomly when im listening to music, watching Netflix or YouTube.

Also noticed that the update caused my ipad to disconnect from wifi randomly...even tho all my other devices connect fine. Maybe thats whats happening with your wife and her setting on her phone is to use data to make up for lack of connectivity?

my phone will stop ringing, no notification after the ios update.
And its super laggy on my iphone 7 +

good thing I refuse to update my iph 6+ and my air2. Not matter how many times that update message pops up on my air2 I refuse it lol. Since is all older hardware I am using I aint updating anything IOS till I have to.

iphone and ipad both have bluetooth issues when connecting to my soundbar

soundbar turns off after 15 mins even when it's connected to the iphone or ipad playing music (soundbar will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity)

didn't use to happen pre ios11 and doesn't happen with any of my android devices

I agree with the auto rotate and lag issues on iphone 6. Sometimes my iphone freezes and i have to hard reset.
