looking for an experiential dining place to takes the misses...

something more than just sit, order, eat.

no omakase
no tepenyaki
no dark table

does such exist?

in the summer there was a guy that made food at a back yard or something for a group of 10 people at a time. menu was surprise i believe. something like this...

there is a place where you can just go to someone's home and it's a catered menu. Would that be something that's suitable?

Maybe you'll like 'The Elbow Room'
I haven't been there before but I heard the flaming/flamboyant staff will openly insult you and put you down, if you're into that stuff.

Does No.5 Orange still serve food? :troll:

In the summer, there was a "Dinner in the Sky" type of thing. But obviously, it is a bit too cold and wet for that right now.

I'm sure they'll be back in 2018 though.

Call the restaurant and have them prepare an omakase type meal and inform the servers ahead of time that you don't want to know what the menu is.

Blue Water Café for Seafood or Hawksworth.

Hondaracer 11-29-2017 02:22 PM

Hawks is too expensive for the level of service imo.. its not what youre looking for.

I'd say the best white glove type dining in Vancouver is still at Le Croc (although a bit biased as still my fave resty)

It's really diff. Not comparing apples to apples.

Blue Water, you get your seafood towers, miso sable fish etc.
Hawksworth is a diff experience, decor is loud as fuck to be honest.
