Harry Rosen, holt renfrew, brookyln doesn't carry it. Anywhere else locally I can try?

So many CG haters. I didn't buy a CG parka but I got one that's equally warm. I just don't understand the hate ppl have for CG and anyone that chooses to buy/wear CG. People feel cold differently than others and if they are able to afford a CG parka then let them buy a CG parka without feeling like they're foolish for buying one.

Nobody NEEDS a CG parka in Vancouver. But more often than not it's not about NEED, it's about WANT. SMH

i've tried calling stores based on the listed authorized dealer stores, never really had much luck, so i've ordered online most of the times.

I don't really hate it but I feel like dress appropriate for weather is much better than showing that $1000 jacket that's made for much colder cities. It hardly drops below negative here in Vancouver so wearing a jacket that's made to -20 or colder doesn't made a lot of sense. Not to mention a lot of people wearing CG isn't doing doing any winter sports or walking outside, they are inside a mall lol. Don't they feel hot at all? You are right everyone feels cold differently but if you have to wear a jacket meant for -20 inside a mall that's usually around 20+ to feel warm you better go see a doctor coz there is something wrong with you.

Is like how we all laugh at people who wear a North face bomber jacket, T-shirt inside and flip flops during summer or people who wear Nike Shox , kappa pants in the winter.

i think the whole idea about vancouver being warmer than other cities in canada is a small misconception.

i have friends who often travel between vancouver and calgary all the time.
the temperature differences between these two cities during the winter could be somewhere between -20 and -30.

us who live in the gvrd feel a "wet cold" or humid cold. while my friends who frequent eastern canada feel a "dry cold" or not humid cold lol.

yes its cold out east, but my friends have only described it as a skin cold, but in vancouver they described it almost as a bone cold.

correct me if im wrong, and if anyone else has been between these two cities could you share your experiences?

I been to Calgary and Beijing in the winter.

First Beijing is around 3 to -3 usually. Is it very dry and gets windy on some days (Luckily when i went back it was windy so there aren't too much dust). It feels colder than Vancouver for sure when going out. Could be because of the wind chill + low temperature. I usually don't need to wear a sweater + my North face jacket in Vancouver but in Beijing I do. Also when is windy it feels really dry on your skin.

Now in Calgary is I guess more or less like Beijing but I guess colder? However, unlike Beijing or Vancouver people (Me as well) spent very little time outside. Most of the time you only have to outside for 5 to 10mins at most. Indoor is blasted with heat so to me is not too bad. However, I am sure if I have to walk outside as much as I do in Vancouver my North Face jacket will not do. I am going to need a Down jacket. It also tends to be more dry than Vancouver.

Maybe I am use to the weather here?

Heat transfer in humid air increases. It is true, the humid air that we have in Vancouver can get you much colder than in places that have zero humidity.

An analogy is being colder when soaked with water, compared to being completely dry. Although, with liquid water, the cooling effect is much higher due to evaporative cooling.

the fact that the city gets relatively minor snowfalls and the mercury hardly sees below -5 means a little chill to the bones beats -40 with windchill any day of the week

yea, I don't think I have seen a white guy or any other ethnicity wearing CG when I was shopping in malls. But recently when I go to richmond and McArthurGlen Outlet, I spot tons of CG being worn by mainlanders or maybe cantos.

Edit: I also bought a very light CG jacket from Simons today and it’s super warm

I would take -20 C dry, than -1 in the rain, any day.
