Where can I find Yu Fu ?

Anyone know where I can buy this?

They serve it at Landmark Hotpot, about $20 per dish for 8 balls or something.

There is a store that apparently sells direct to Landmark, but I've forgotten the name/location. FailFish

Not sure if they're the suppliers. But I use to buy them at the fish store close to where e-canteen use to be.

Enlighten us on what Yu Fu is.

It's not your regular fish tofu, its some sort of fish puff coated with oil, and inside is a bit of fish paste. Apparently the whole thing is made with fish. I had it for the first time this weekend and was pretty mindblow. A must try lol

The best ones I've had were from a place at this address in Richmond. I couldn't read the awning as I'm not Chinese and I'm not sure if they're still there but here's the address:

145-8191 Westminster Hwy (just a block east of East of 3 Road)

To be honest; there are two different thing here.

1) what you're looking at is a dried version of 魚腐; put it in hot pot = soft again.
2) the original version is 魚腐; which comes from my home town (順德) in China.
順德 is famous for being close by the waters = very good with fish, seafood and cooking.

Being a rural area, with tons of fish and no refrigeration; they used fish meat + eggs to deep fry (super low heat) making it very very fluffy; 2 cups + 12 eggs just to give you a perspective

You can get it's actually at every T&T and every Chinese grocery store. It's not the real deal but what the heck.

There is actually no real 魚腐 (being sold) in GVRD.

The landmark ones are pretty good. Wouldn't mind knowing where they get it or something comparable to hot pot at home with.

^ this is the place to buy it from, not cheap tho. it's like $30 for 1/2lb, but it is the best ones i've had. dont bother with the supermarkets ones as they're shit and expensive.
