What would you pay for hoist rental? In the process of building my dream garage.. three car garage with a hoist. Thinking about possibly renting the hoist out in weekends if it makes $ sense. What does everyone think would be a fair price? Hourly or daily what would be fair and reasonable? I also have a pretty extensive tool set up and compressor. I’m thinking strictly hoist rental as I’m pretty protective of my tools but if I like you... maybe.. thanks guys |
till someone gets crushed underneath they're car and you're on the hook for it. |
you're gonna move your entire fleet of cars every time someone wants the space? what about vehicles under storage insurance? and if they take longer than anticipated? |
you might want to check your insurance policy before you consider doing this |
The liability... Some dumb kid's going to Titanic- Iceberg his buddy and the lawsuit from mommy and daddy will be eye watering... |

Ahh never thought about this... good point! Thx |
I'm pretty sure liability issues are what shut down U-Fix-It in New West. It was such an awesome place to go and work on your car (cheap too). |
Sucks that all it takes is an idiot to ruin it for everyone. Luckily I have a friend with a shop. Just did my brakes. Saved probably 1-1.4k rather than going to the stealership |
Isnt there a place in New West that rents out a warehouse with some hoist? |
Yep, that and people stealing shit out of your garage or your tools. You try to be a nice guy and you get fucked. |
The two big issues are insurance and if somebody (for whatever reason) has their car there longer than expected. Are you willing to have someones vehicle that can't move sitting on your hoist for months? |
Your better off fixing other ppl cars yourself instead of them using your hoist to fix their own car. |
Get insurance and make people sign a waiver problem solved. |
Rocket Fuel Supply Co. offers something similar to motorcyclist. With the amount of condo's going up people need places to work on their cars. But you will have to consider whether or not your insurance company will cover this.. https://www.rfsupply.co/products/membership-pro |
