Coilover damper adjusting knobs are missing? how do I adjust the damper if the knob is missing? I tried to turn with a hexagon tool, but the whole cap moves. Any idea? Both my BC racing and TEIN have the knobs missing :( https://picoolio.net/images/2018/04/...777adb5a0f.jpg https://picoolio.net/images/2018/04/...92af06419e.jpg |
Maybe it is adjustable at the bottom of the strut/damper..... |
Allen wrenches (aka hex tools) will not fit, hence why it is not working. Unfortunately, you will need the tool. Hopefully, I am wrong about this. Some good tips from Tein regarding your situation. Quick Click Fixes - TEIN USA Blog |
Like Bender_Unit said, check if they're inverted dampers with the adjustment at the bottom. If not you can purchase replacement knobs from BC Racing, I would assume Tein sells them as well. On BC's I believe the hex is for holding the shaft while removing the nut and not linked to the adjustment mechanism. edit: they're only ~$10 each, looking at some pictures the end looks to be a really tiny hex, much smaller than the one at the end of the shaft that turns the whole thing. |
I am hoping if I can skip the ordering and adjust the damper with some simple tools. The knob on google image is just an allen wrench to me |
