You only get 21Mbps, not too bad and they give you a free iphone clone smartphone if you sign a 2yrs contract. You can go online pretty much anywhere in the world.

does it support VoLTE and VoIP on Apple devices?

are HK providers as scummy as Canadians ones and jack up the rate 6 months later without telling you?

asian_XL 04-12-2018 06:13 PM

never happen in hk regarding price hike during the contract period.

Looks like it must use the Global Phone ?
Build in SIM ??

Hehe 04-12-2018 10:02 PM

This looks awesome.

Any way to get it without being physically in HK?

I travel a lot, and its list covers pretty much 90% of countries I visit. I probably spent $500/yr between foreign sims when I travel+local sims for F&F when they come over for visit... and this is that I limit my usage. 200HKD a month and I have a world sim? sign me up ASAP.

I read it again, yes, it is e-sim

FerrariEnzo 04-13-2018 06:29 AM

Its cheaper if you want only 1 account of myTV Super, $22CAD/month, everything thing else is same..

Covers "Canada, Mexico, United States"
WOW.. this is sounding better and better

But it uses CloudSim and which provider in Canada/US uses this?

Opposite in fact... Mine gave me an extra 1GB of data for the same price last year, without me asking or anything LUL

6GB instead of 5GB for like $20 CAD

Some companies have really sleazy sales people (PCCW) but generally the telco companies here are really good after that for customer service and products that actually work (even PCCW)

Have never dealt with HKBN before though

asian_XL 04-13-2018 03:35 PM

HKBN is not bad in term of CS and quality.

CSL family plan: me, wife, mom, sister
HKBN: dad (he bought the internet bundle)

FerrariEnzo 04-14-2018 07:18 AM

HKBN seems new.. advertising 200k subs

yray 04-18-2018 10:19 AM

so mytv would work here too?

Thats the golden nugget

ae101 05-11-2018 03:56 PM

The question is can we get it in Canada. Parents are going back to China in Oct/Nov. From what I heard you need to have a Chinese ID in order to get a sim card in China. I remember when I went back years ago my ex always get them for me even at the news stand they check her ID(didn't register but still ask for her ID). I try to open one myself at a physical store in Beijing and show them my passport and they have no idea how to enter my ID LOL.

Just want to make sure my parents have internet with them the whole time since they are old and doesn't know tech at all.

asian_XL 05-12-2018 08:10 PM

when they arrive the airport, the cell phone service provider kiosk will do the identification

if your parents still have their hk home coming card valid then they should be fine as all 3 carriers at major stores can issue u SIM cards (I have changed my number a lot as I'm a bit of a sucker for deals but u can't keep your phone numbers once u change)

If u want cheap China telecom (cdma network) has a $1 800mb data card that's they hand out for free (with about $10 pre-charged), u just put in $50 and it should last u for more then a month (I forgot how much they charge for a phone call)
