Bomb threat at Bodwell High school in North Van

Quote:

A high school on the North Shore is being evacuated over a bomb threat, according to police.
North Vancouver RCMP said the threat was directed at Bodwell High School on Harbourside Drive, but no further details have been provided.
Fortunately, students are on break so classes aren't in session, but police said some people did have to be evacuated from the building.
Drivers are warned to expect some traffic delays in the area
I'm sure this affects a few of our members that work at the auto mall.

Huge police presence, automatic weapons and an evacuation of the residence on campus. Hope everyone is safe and its all a stupid decision by some kid to call in a bad joke than an actual threat. Was not an enjoyable dog walk this morning seeing a bunch of assault rifles waving around, police or not.

do bomb threats at hospitals usually illicit ERT response?
I thought they were common...I guess maybe colleges too but not so much high school

They still have the entire area secured, so I imagine there is something that is causing this to take it more seriously than your average incident.

interestingly enough police are conducting an armed shooter test scenario at waterfront station this morning

Similar situation happened last May, at a high school in Richmond. It was a dumb kid spoofing the wifi network and spamming images of "school shooting tmr" or smt. I think if anything, the police presence is a VERY good thing. My brother was encouraged to go to school, the following day, without actual verification that it was fake. I'm glad that the N.Van police and the high school administration seems to be taking this threat way more seriously than the Richmond police and Mcmath administration.

Wonder if Police have the Resources to catch the person for False reports,Reminds me of those Retarded Swatters who mistakenly got a person killed by police.

unless it's a payphone...i'll be fucking amazed if the person gets away using a Skype service or any online VOIP.
