Honda Ridgeline whine noise 2006 Honda Ridgeline. Power steering reservoir was at lower mark with old fluid. So, topped it up with honda PSF (new) to bring it up to the upper mark. Now, the truck is making whining noise around the drive belt area. Noise appears when: engine temp is cold and when I play with the throttle (around 2000rpm). The noise Goes away when: engine temp is normal (running temp) Could the mixture of old and new fluid have affected the power steering pump? Thanks in advance for your input! Cheers:) |
Worked something similar on my TL, uses similar engine so worth a shot |
I did replaced both o-rings (easy and cheap), but the noise is still there. Only noticeable when engine is cold (esp in the morning), and when I rev the engine There is no noise when I turn the steering wheel side to side. :( I have a feeling that it could be the drive belt. |
Did you burp the system to get rid of any air pockets? Pour some plain water on the belt/pulley and see if there noise changes. |
