Only Mustang, Focus to survive Ford car cuts https://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...ings/34244867/ Pretty big news, ford going with basically truck and SUV only lineup. Seems like the way of the future. Hopefully the focus rs and v8 mustangs make it to the next decade |
https://jalopnik.com/ford-will-phase...ica-1825544784 Focus RS is gone only the Mustang and new Focus Active mini-crossover will be in Ford’s North America lineup. :okay: |
so long, focus and fiesta...but wasn't like I was actually gonna buy one may be they're preparing an electric car platform like BMW? |
Not even a Focus ST? wtf. |
well, guess my RS resale value should stay pretty good |

Nobody was buying them, so why bother building them?! Overall I think it's a very wise move. |
I could tell Ford didn't care about most of their passenger car fleet. The Fiesta and Focus were big deals when they came out.....7 years ago. They just fell behind as others upped their game. The Taurus is just a boorish bathtub. Interior space was comically small given the size of the car. I guess the SHO name will die for good. C-Max? Did anyone actually buy one of those? I hate Crossovers with a passion but funny enough I enjoyed the the Ford Flex Platinum in tri-coat white I had as a company vehicle for awhile. Nicknamed it the 'Soap Bar'. |
Time to trade in my Mustang? |
i took a buddy to see a focus a few weeks ago and he was utterly disappointed with the base model focus and how crappy it is inside. It's just not competitive at all vs Hyundai/Honda/Toyota/VW. Let it die... good riddance. |
Any surprise that this is announced shortly after Trump's administration loosens up the CAFE rules? |

I'm surprised Ford is doing this at a time when oil is going up in price. Just 10 years ago when oil was $150/barrel, nobody was buying SUVs and American automakers didn't have fuel efficient cars to sell. I don't think Ford is really planning ahead on this. Granted today's CUVs are based on car platforms so fuel economy is much better than they used to be |
