BMW owner myself - those collision amounts are fairly small for a new BMW. I had an Infiniti previously and to touch up some very light buffable scratches with paint was 1400. It's under warranty for another 2 years. I'd drive it and if it drove well, buy extended warranty, and when that is up, sell the car. |
The fact that it's a BMW is a red flag. :p |
I remember way back in the day, dealerships had to disclose accidents over $2500 because that was considered serious and substantial. Considering cars nowadays are designed to crumple for improved safety, any minor fender benders will yield large amounts of $$$ in repairs. Also, inflation is inflation. Everything is expensive. |
Those numbers are very minimal. Wouldn’t even replace a fender + repaint of panel |
The 3 owners in 2 years would be more of a flag to me than those small claims. |
It could have been a dealership employee demo given the short ownership. |
I wouldn't worry at all. I would be happy the damage was fixed. I recently had someone tell me their car has a "Clean title" with a carproof to back up the claim. It showed a clean title but the car had damage on both bumpers, a fender and a rear quarter panel. So ya, sure it is a clean title because someone didn't want to spend the money for insurance deductibles to fix the 4 accidents they caused. The car is still a 4 accident car only worse since none of them were fixed. At the end of the day Carproof is a piece of paper, the actual car is what matters. |
Damage all seems very minor. My guess would be that the first owner was a BMW employee on a 1-year lease term. After the second accident, he probably had enough with the car and just returned it to get a new one. Only red flag for myself would be the fact that there are three claims on such a new car. Although minor, will definitely affect resale value a bit. Just something to keep in mind. If you can get the car for a good price then it's definitely still worth it. |
At those prices they basically replaced a tail light, a mirror and an owners manual. Nothing to worry about if its priced appropriately. |
Owners were definitely female :derp: :fullofwin: |
...and on another note.. i looked at a 2018 model of the same above... and saw a 'lien' attached to the carfax? The sales rep said it has already been paid out but carfax didn't catch up to it yet. i mean, the car was a 2018 and traded in within 6months with less than 5000km on it. sheesh.. whats' with these bimmer owners? they either love it or HATE it. |
