Thanks for all the opinions. I'm going to have him look at lightly used Accord Coupes and Q60's. If he can find something with about 10,000k or less he probably will be ok with that. Maybe a Mustang... although I doubt he will go domestic :P

Agree with twitchyzero, although most retirees these days seemingly end up in an SUV of some sort.

Edit: Apparently you could get the 201 hp turbo 1.6 in the 2nd generation Forte Koups (2014-2016). I haven't driven a 2nd gen one.

Looks like they're still available? Kia Canada - fortekoup

Don't know if already posted or whether your dad is considering a hatchback, but the toyota Corolla hatchback would be an option, with $ to spare

I will admit that the upcoming Corolla hatch is pretty interesting. Auto rev match technology in an everyday grocery getter isn't exactly common when you start comparing to a Porsche!

It was discontinued in April 2017.

He is considering hatch's since the coupe market is pretty limited in his price range.

He test drove a Mazda CX3 GT AWD the other day and liked it quite a bit, but found it a little under powered on hills. Only 148 hp and 148 torque. Handling was great. The top of the line CX3 is PACKED with every option you could want though which he liked.

Anyone own a CX3 and have a more in-depth opinion?

CX-3 is a crossover/small SUV (not that it really matters); would compete with the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, etc.
