Brake pads suggestions?
 

Does anyone have any recommendations on brake pads? Something that has great stopping power and doesn't produce much or little brake dust would be preferred.

I'm currently using the Mercedes-Benz OEM brake pads that came with my W205 C300 4Matic. They're pretty good aside from the huge amount of brake dust it produces.

Our family glk has had akebono euro ceramics and they’ve worked well, even when rowing a boat. A lot less dust.

Are your pads almost out? Wondering how long they’ve lasted because I have the same car.

Akebono. I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever. Fucking awesome brake pads for European cars.

Have been quite happy with the lack of dust of these on a '13 RDX, and they seem to be holding up well (i.e. not leaving uneven deposits on rotor after multiple highway 140kmh > 20 stops on the 401), but do notice that they often have squeal first couple low speed stops in the morning in the cold Ontario winter morning.

Wagner Thermo Quiets and Centric Posi Quiets both found on Rock Auto as well have worked wonders for me

Also Akebono, for normal daily driving, it's more than competent. It's quiet, low dusty, and it wears really well. Very long life to them. It brakes well for daily driving.

I actually found that they fade and heat up pretty quickly, so you'll loose braking feel quickly but stopping power is there.

I was researching brake pads for my Toyota Sienna the past month, and found that OEM was the best bet.

Akebono's were also good, but also a bit pricier.

Akebono Pro-ACTs should be fine for your use. I have them on my TSX and they work fine though I hate the initial feel compared to my RacingBrake ET300s but those pads were much higher performance (loved them).

I've driven the car for 40000 km and I got the "Check brake pads" light the other day. I'm not sure if it's just a faulty sensor or close to being worn out.

It seems like the general consensus is Akebono. Where should I purchase them from to get the best deal?

Brake sensors work by making connectivity with the rotor when the pad gets so low the sensor comes in contact. Can’t really have a “faulty sensor” unless it is grounding out somewhere else within the wiring. At least the systems I’ve worked with.

I am very happy with this on our MDX. More grab and less dust than OEM

I also switched to akebono from hawk, way less dust and good enough for daily driving.

I believe a lot of oe honda and bmw pads are akebono anyways
but yes rockauto is where I source them

I put the 40 dollar Centric basic ceramics in my Verossa and the dust to stopping power ratio is adequate. For a Mercedes, I'd probably go a little more boujee with the premium ceramic pads from RockAuto
