Collection Agency

Recently I got a collection agency call saying I owe them $XX

Now I know which company i owe the money and the company sends collection agency to collect it

the question is who do I pay to get rid of this

Do I pay the company originally and will they inform collection agency or do I pay the collection agency?

best bet to work out a deal with the collection agency to pay less and then pay them direct, make sure you get a receipt showing you made a payment and if you work out a settlement a letter stating that as well to cover your ass.

Im going thruough same thing so what your saying seems like the original company already has theirbhands off? And couldnt care less and pretty much let collection agency and us to deal with.

Collection Agency gets the contract to collect outstanding debts..

Like murd0c, just pay the collection agency and retain receipts. Make sure you pay them or they will screw your credit score even more.

which agency called you?

Yeah you pay the people who called you.

I remember years ago, can’t even remember why or what for. I missed a few calls from an unknown number. Within 3 days I had my brother called, parents called, work place called etc. I had no idea how they got those numbers. When I finally got in contact with whatever company, it was for $32 from like 4 years prior. I was pretty pissed

If its for private parking, I'd ignore it and not park on their lot.

send them the exact amount in pennies :D

That's more difficult now that the one cent coin has been taken out of "circulation."

5 cent coins, perhaps?

BTW, in Canada, we never had pennies, dimes, or nickels. US and other countries, yes, but not Canada. However, being the 52nd state of the US, we have come to call the coins by the American designation. Also, like our nickname for the one and two dollar coins, the loonie and the twoonie, it's much easier to say.

sorry for the intrusion.......... carry on carrying on.

Section 8(2) of Canada's Currency Act states that a payment in coins is a legal tender for no more than: $40 in toonies (or coins up to $10 denomination) $25 in loonies. $10 in dimes, quarters (or other coins above 10-cents but below a dollar)
