....well when your paying 50g for a civic....

IMASA 11-09-2018 06:21 AM

At least you can now park at the Low Emission vehicle spots at Ikea.

tegra7 11-09-2018 07:09 AM

You would probably get VI'd for having that around here.

this looks more baller than a patek philippe
bet it would look really nice on a black/dark grey car

100 more whp at no cost to fuel consumption or engine strain. Sounds like a winner. Looks baller too.

Berz out.

!LittleDragon 11-09-2018 03:03 PM

Exposed gears sound like a great idea. There's no way dust and rocks will jam it up...

prudz 11-09-2018 03:13 PM

You could make a lot more than 100hp with 10k on any car.

But can you add 100HP and all wheel drive. Whats the cost of a turbo kit for a Civic type R?

R1CED` 11-10-2018 10:20 PM

is this a Bradford Chow thread in the making?

if you really want to spend $10k and get a nice performance upgrade and AWD, just get a Model 3. The cost to go from RWD to AWD is about $10k plus you get a nice $5k discount from the government.

Can't make an extra 100HP on the stock turbo setup.

DragonChi 11-11-2018 09:51 AM

Didn't Mitsubishi come up with a in hub electric motor in the early 2000s?

The transmission from all motors, fwd, or rwd doesn't look smooth in the video.

I'd like to see it take on a speed bump. :lol

hud 91gt 11-11-2018 10:22 AM

After finally watching this video, I actually think the coolest thing about this thing would be operating the vehicle 100% fully electric for the 40 mile range lol. Not sure how the rest of the car would run without the car running though ;)

I don't think anyone buying a CTR will be interested in a Model 3. They will probably look at a Golf R or Focus RS if they want AWD.

EV is nice and all but charging time is still longer than filling up gas and without a garage it's out of the question.

Oh yeah and have fun waiting for your Model 3 to be delivered LOL. And when it gets here I hope it doesn't have a door panel mismatched.

current wait time for the model 3 is about 4 weeks. When mine showed up back in August the build quality was fantastic so i'm not really sure what you mean about the door panel. Unless you're referring to the one person who had an issue with the wrong colour panels on the inside.

nsx042003 11-11-2018 09:48 PM

until Teslas sell in the 30g range, i find them to be unappealing and...i don't know what musk is thinking, the model 3 is supposed to be the affordable version, yet it's like a 80k car? whatever. I will probably drive my gasoline car until i die.

These electric powered wheels probably only looks like that to show people how it's engineered? if it looks more discreet and not as involved to install/convert, it would be a big hit

twitchyzero 11-11-2018 10:10 PM

i can certainly see people cross-shopping CTR and Model 3

both chunky and kinda ugly vehicles posing as compacts...both plenty fast...priced not too far off from each other (way too much for what they are...but blows the competition away)

how long is the waitlist for the 2019 Civic-R?

Sure, once. This won't be straining the rest of the car or take out other parts of the drivetrain if it fails. If you add 100hp to most engines they're going to start breaking stuff.

I imagine the lack of heat, power steering and power brakes wouldn't be much fun. Or making it that far and then having to drive gently to warm the car up, that's what I hated most about driving a hybrid for the whopping 2 days I did it.
