Where to get a written repair estimate for small electronics?

Does anyone know where I would go for a free/low cost written repair estimate for a dashcam?

Im trying to utilize my extended warranty service on my credit card and they need a written repair estimate from shop with a proper letterhead on top. Ive never used this extended warranty stuff before so it's a bit confusing.

Thanks!

Geek Squad at Best Buy, just you'll need to wait about a month to be told that the item is will need to be shipped out to the manufacturer and that its out of warranty

Ive heard of circuit boards being fixed at the following... but not sure if they would charge only to diagnose possible problems.

You could contact the manufacturer and see if they can give you an invoice? CIBC does it through Royal and Sun Alliance and I was able to get my claim approved by sending in digital PDF documents.

Good luck with that shit, CC's make that process so complicated and difficult just to try and deter you from taking them up on it.

Should have seen the process we had to go through for the trip cancellation insurance my CC offers for medical cases. Had to get letters from 3 physicians, and a whole ton of other hoops. Fuckin' retarded.

I've had two experiences with CIBC. One for a lost phone and one for a laptop repair. Haven't had to use trip cancellation insurance yet (and I hope not) but so far, Royal and Sun Alliance has made it pretty easy.

Lost my Samsung S7 one night. Called them up and they just wanted the credit card statement and purchase receipt mailed to them. Got my cheque within 3 weeks.

Dropped my laptop and it had a dent. Called them up and they wanted the same documents and the repair invoice. Was a bit worried since I paid the manufacturer through PayPal and only had a lousy PayPal invoice, but still got my money in the end. This one took a bit longer taking around a month.

I had to make a claim for a ring I bought and I had to get a similar quote from a jeweller. The process is the same for all inquiries.

Once I got my quote I sent it in and then my claim was approved, the quote cost me $20 though.

You have to pay for it. Simple as that.

That blows, I know my Brother in Law uses this shit all the time. If he buys a new shirt and shrinks it he'll make a claim, he's done it plenty of times.

Maybe it depends on size of claim?
