I wish people would stop getting FOMO, and clicking on obviously scammy links. "They" know people click that link, and it's going to keep happening because someone will fall for the scam.

I like how it expired 4 months ago

happened just earlier this week, from another forum

A relative received a convincing looking phishing email this morning entitled "Update your billing information", with a note from "Telus" that they were unable to process their last payment.

They clicked the link and entered their login information (ugh), but the link definitely wasn't to the Telus website.

It was a very convincing email. Professional looking, and nothing misspelled. Even the email address that shows on their iPad says "INFO@telus.net". I don't know of a way to view email headers on the iPad, so I can't tell what the actually email address is.

I changed their account password within a couple hours of this happening. Anything else I need to do to secure the account?

She entered her SIN, drivers licence number, address, and mothers maiden name too... does anyone know what we should do?

When I got it, my friend translated it and said that they are saying that I have a passport at some embassy

Also the ones that say I'm going to jail if I don't pay is funny. :lawl:

The URL in the those pictures doesn't look right. I'm sure the CRA website doesn't start with revenuecanada[DOT]co

The scammer is trying to get your online banking login. It's not just the scammer pretending to be from the CRA, but they will pretend to be anything. Here's one I got 2 weeks ago from "Fido"

What the fuck, people............ do I sound/look like some helpless senior?

I get this e-mail:

Your receipt from Apple.

Apple ID: this part is right.

Order ID: AUCLDSKYICLDAU

Document No: 0091776334298723

Date: 16 December 2018

Total: $21.57

SkySafari 5 iOS app

Write Review Report a Problem links at bottom..........

First of all most, if not all, Apple products start with an "M."

The last four digits of the credit card doesn't match any of the five Mastercards I have.

Do these fucktards think they can fool me into clicking on a link? FUCK YOU, Asswipes! Imma gonna find out who you are and assrape you with asnoobasitget's dick!

god bless

/rant

I called Apple and reported the issue. Forwarded them the e-mail. I made sure nothing was charged on my account. Phishing turns into phisting if I had my way.

Sometimes I get calls about having a package at the embassy.

I need to have my roommate pick it up and swear into the phone in Mandarin next time. It would be fucking hilarious.

twitchyzero 12-16-2018 02:44 PM

i ignored a 778 call from CRA a few times, googling the name and number didn't come up with anything
finally told them they can send me a letter if they're not scammers
turns out, it was legitimate

obvious at this time dont expect text messages from a government agency to be real
