Random Thought: Stretched Limos This just came to mind, but are stretched Limos like Navigators and Escalades still RWD? For SUVs, it shouldn't be that hard to convert it to an fwd platform instead of running an extra long drive shaft to the rear. |
not limited to suvs because even the lincoln town cars are orignally rwd |
Yup, they're still RWD. They use the base 4x2 models of the Navigators, Expeditions, and Excursions. Unfortunately, they don't allow stretch Escalades here in BC. |
I guess it's cheaper to make a super long drive shaft then to route it back to the front wheels. |
With how long the engine and trans are to begin with the stock driveshaft probably isn't very long, so depending on how big the stretch is it might not even be that crazy. |
