Would be better if without the smokey eyes imo.

Badhobz 03-09-2019 07:52 AM

they ruined the headlights. It looks mildly depressed now.

twitchyzero 03-09-2019 07:54 AM

the changes have been so subtle since mk6
i like those wheels though

JDMDreams 03-09-2019 10:14 AM

I think without the Smokey eye it might look like Asian eyes. Kinda like a light color IS with the split led in the bumper? The contrast becomes very obvious with light colored cars.

forcedot 03-09-2019 10:18 AM

Seems like Volkswagen is taking the same approach they are with Porsche, don't change much but make the headlights look different

Traum 03-09-2019 10:42 AM

You sure that smokey eyes / eye liner thing isn't camo? The magazines I read says there are still light camo on the front and back ends, but I can't tell from the pictures what is camo and what isn't.

!Aznboi128 03-09-2019 11:46 AM

If you zoom in you can see the headlights actually go into the fender a bit more, I'm sure the top and the bottom part that's darkened is just camo

whitev70r 03-09-2019 04:51 PM

Personally, I like 2015 or newer Mk 7.

Those wheels on the Mark 8 are hideous.

twitchyzero 03-09-2019 08:21 PM

it's not camo unless there's some crazy never seen before DRL tech

why would they bother camo'ing 1x10" and leave the rest of the car exposed?

jjson 03-09-2019 08:46 PM

I think VW absolutely nailed it on the mk7 and mk7.5 especially with the 7.5 gti. Perfect balance in all elements.

This mk8 looks to have too much chrome on the front end and weird creases/bulges on the hood. I don't know, could grow on me. But those wheels tho lol

Traum 03-09-2019 09:54 PM

This Mk8 car seems to have a taller greenhouse / lower shoulder line than the Mk7 cars. I didn't particularly enjoy the visibility from the driver seat in the Mk7 cars.

But that can't be confirmed until I've actually sit in the car...

Looks a lot like my mk 7.5 with those ebay stick on angry eyebrows

Resting Bitch Face comes to mind.

Excited to see what it will exactly look like. The new Jetta is pretty disappointing especially the rear end :heckno:

anti-vip 03-11-2019 10:09 PM

yeah too much mascara...wonder if it will have mascara tears when it rains

I personally think it'll looks closer to this without the black parts

At least the GLI is a lot better equipped than the GTI...

It seems to come standard with GTI Autobahn equipment at ~$31k, while a Golf GTI Autobahn is closer to ~$36k.

donjalapeno 03-12-2019 03:00 PM

GLI is a lot better than the base for sure. I wonder if they sell well. We barely sell any Civic SI sedans.

Really? I loved the Sedan version comparing to the coupe, more practical and looks better in my eye.
