Wealthy brothers Inshaf and Ilham Ibrahim bombed the luxury Shangri-La and Cinnamon Grand hotels in Sri Lanka's Easter Sunday terror attack
Suicide bomber brothers were the sons of a millionaire spice trader and were privately educated in Colombo
Their attacks claimed the lives of at least 41 foreigners, including eight British holidaymakers - three of whom were children
As police raided their £1m mansion in an exclusive neighbourhood of Colombo, Ilham's pregnant wife Fatima blew herself up, killing her three children and three officers
Inshaf, a successful businessman, owned a copper factory thought to be where the suicide bombs were made
At least 321 people were murdered in the massacre, 45 of them children, while more than 500 were injured
Chilling footage shows Ilham and an accomplice bomber attack the Shangri-La while guests had breakfast
Second clip earlier showed different bomber patting a girl on the head before launching attack on a church
ISIS has claimed responsibility and released footage of the fighters swearing allegiance to the jihadist group
Dude what the fuck

looks like their government security forces in india failed to the warnings while people were reporting the terrorist videos on dvd and online hate videos he was sharing promoting violence and murder.

Indian government is fucking dumb,i have no clue why they would look the other way while general public was concerned about it,any creditable threat isn't taken lightly in north america at all.

I've heard nothing but good things about the people of Sri Lanka and have always wanted to visit after the Civil War ended (possibly the only Civil war in modern history where the insurgents were completely and utterly destroyed, leading to peace).

In any case I even looked into flying there this year and flying out on Easter Monday. Didn't end up going as some other things came up but it scary to see I would have probably been in Colombo or on the way to the airport when the bombings happened. A fucking atrocity these idiots have unleashed completely unprovoked onto this island on their own people too.

There is internal conflict in the government between the prime minister and president. The critical memo was not passed on to the right staff and police there thought these terrorist were just small peanuts so they were caught off guard.

The NY times Daily podcast has a good summary on it.

You also realize this happened in Sri Lanka, not India right? Although Indian intelligence did pass the info to Sri Lanka which was not passed on to the right authorities for whatever reasons.

It has to do with power struggle between India favoured PM and China favoured president and or /officials (and ex pm). The president had withdrawan powers of current pm previously after he won elections only to reinstate them once sl supreme Court intervened.
Guess the thought processes was if something like this does happen,PM will lose support of the people.

This explains what I mentioned above
