Agree to the wage demands but implement a criminal record checks, anyone with any convictions for an indictable offense to be terminated immediately and all future hires must pass and maintain the same check.

No way the union would sign it but it would be fun to propose and hear the pandering on why it's not acceptable.

FWIW we have often shipped commercial goods to port in WA because the prices and service from ports in BC are terrible.

Reading the article in the OP, what exactly are they striking for? I assume a raise but it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.
