4-post lift decent info out there but how much does installation cost in vancouver? how was the install in a standard 2-car garage? any modification? ceiling clearance? what's it like living with it? are the spouse/kids ok with parking next to it and getting out fine? anything you would do different or wish you knew before you got into it? |
Not sure if this is allowed, but I just started working at KMS Tools in Coquitlam and was just about to inquire about this myself. Maybe give them a call, they have a bunch of options. |
Is it to work on your vehicle and storage? Or just to work on your car? If it's just to work on your car maybe look into quick jacks. https://www.costco.ca/QuickJack-BL-7...100410530.html |
4 posts assemble easy and although I would never not bolt it to the floor its a good idea to bolt to the floor with concrete anchors. Unlike a 2 post lift, there isn't a minimum concrete thickness requirement, you can put it anywhere you have the space. If you are doing auto repairs, be warned the rolling jacks cost a fortune. A quality rolling jack will be more than an offshore 4 post lift. That being said, I really don't like the massive footprint a 4 post requires, it's only really good for parking, doing wheel alignments, or if you have an above ground dyno at home, lol. |
2 post or don't bother. what are you going to work on where you don't want the wheels off the car? 4 post is for car storage only https://live.staticflickr.com/7842/4...1b8f3e83_b.jpg2019-03-18 (1) by GhstRidr, on Flickr |

This is the exact video you're looking for. This guy has a e36 m3, wrx, and 944 with a 4 post in his 2 car garage. He talks about some pros and cons. You can see in some of his newer videos that it seems like a pita to work on his car. Producer pretty much summed it up for ya |
this will primarily be for storage yes i know bridge jacks cost an arm and a leg i only really remove wheels for rotating and brake work, probably gonna stick with scissor/bottle jacks |
