PSA: Thieves and their assholery
 

A couple nights ago, we were jolted awake by a fire alarm at 4am. Fire Dept came, and there was no fire. Someone pulled the alarm.

Today, I learn that thieves pulled the alarm after breaking into some cars, and then robbed a condo with unlocked doors while people were evacuating. Now, the strata is issuing new keys and fobs to everyone because they suspect that a key or fob is out there. What a fucking pain. Fuck those thieves with a rusty spoon.

Not sure if this is a new thing, but I'm glad I habitually lock my door when I leave my home.

get one of those hubs, i have wink, with door sensor /motion sensor , and even convert any lock bolt to lock via phone. All runs on low energy bluetooth.

y wont they just disable all, and get people to re-register fobs.

After the reports of building standpipes used for fire fighting being stolen across Vancouver and DTES, likely to be sold for scrap, this disregard for safety does not surprise me.

someone needs to break their legs already,they're never gonna learn till that day.

You’ll get arrested for assault causing bodily harm and the sent to jail, while the thief will be on probation and steal things from your now empty home

Are they rekeying or replacing all the locks at all? If the junkies happen to have a master key you'll get hit again.
