Mr. "Towel in my Beemer exhaust" and the racist rant lady in London Drugs Burnaby are so full of hate that they would walk in Richmond on No. 3 Road with tiki torches while yelling at people of Chinese descent. I hope karma gets both of them! |

All things aside, "go back to your country" is such an incredibly ignorant thing to say in Canada. |

Little taken back by the responses in this thread. There is no doubt that the internet has created a safe space for closet racists and bigots to spew out hate. When people spit out hate on the internet behind a user name or a private profile on social media, they think they're invincible. Free speech allows you to say whatever you want, when you want but what do we do to hold people accountable for their speech? If you want to spit out hate, by all means. But there are consequences. If hateful people knew the reality of these consequences, we would have a lot less open racism. Open racism is on a rise. There's no doubt about that. Yes, every city, every country has some form and level of racism; it's human nature. But I can confidently say, Vancouver has been fairly controlled when it comes to outlandish, racist behaviour in the last decade or so. It isn't until recently, for reasons unknown to me, that we are seeing a rise in seeing and experiencing racist rants from Caucasians. The Status Quo has been been changing for quite some time and we are reaching the tipping point I suppose. 10-15 years ago, as I look to the left and right on my neighbourhood, I would see white and white. Today however, the tables have turned and it's the white neighbour who looks to his left and right and sees colour and colour. This is threatening for some people. It is perceived as a power shift to some people. So they act out. The way we treat one another when we feel like the underdog is far different from when we are on top. Especially, if you were on top your entire life. |
The lady working at London drugs is not even Chinese lol |
Let's face it, in Greater Vancouver and West Van, Caucasian people are the minority. I personally love the fact these Caucasian people feel emboldened enough to express their racism. Once you take the genie out the bottle, you can't put it back in. Let's face it, racism has alway been here, but now it is in the open. Good luck with that! :lol |
It's funny because everyone cry's racist but in reality the easiest way to get a rise out of someone is to call them something about them. Gay guy = faggot Chinese = chink or go back to china East Indian = raghead hindu etc Guy wearing glasses = 4 Eyes Guy with one leg = hoppy See where I'm going with this? Attacking someone about something visual is a way of igniting a response. Berz out. |

Talk about race, sexual preference, etc but won't address the real issues. Plus, the most basic human response is fight or flight. When you corner a wild animal, they will either try to run away or fight back. In this case, you confront the guy about washing his car. what type of response do you expect? Him telling you to F off and mind your own business or he will cower and apologize and move on. Here the person fought back and went on the offensive. It's not really about racism like in the 60's but ppl just spurting out hateful words to put other ppl down. |

The media is hugely to blame for all this BS and the brewing racism coming to light now, then of course they love reporting on their own mess Non-stop stories about Chinese buying up all the RE, pictures of nothing but asian people in line for pre-sale condos etc. Stories about young chinese N drivers blowing through 50 zones and getting their ferraris towed, then they get into the deeper stories about how foreign investment is pricing everyone out of the city etc. So when you're only news source is this local drivel and you're not too smart to begin with, these underlying feelings start coming to the surface. If anything i'd say some of these events just bring more people out of the woodwork that reinforce their feelings TLDR; the local media is fucking garbage. |
^Go punch that metro news fucker who stands outside the sky trains!!!! |

You Asians are making minorities look bad/soft. You need to handle your business. How did you let this go on for years? |
We don’t fight at a drop of a hat like you East Indian guys. If I were to use the badhobz grossly generalized aggressive scale Less aggressive <================== > More aggressive Chinese. Korean/Japanese. East Indian. Canadian/American *not applicable in all situations. |

At what point does one keep their noses in their own business while others have no issue stating the sky is blue. Imagine the outrage if it was the other way around and it was a visible minority that was washing their cars. "hey moron. Sign says no car wash. can't you read english? go back to where you came from etcc...." vs I don't give a flying F about you. I am a canadian and can do as I please so piss off. All he needs is to run into someone who isn't above snapping and keying his car, smashing his face in, etc... But one can only hope. |
^ I don't think he's worried about that..... https://nationalpostcom.files.wordpr...trip=all&w=640 Quote:
