Being on the floor at a stadium concert

Maybe this is a dumb question but I've never been to anything bigger than a shorter concert in a small arena so I'm unsure how this works. Seeing this show would be a bucket list item for me and a friend and we'd be traveling to the east coast to see it so I want to do it right.

If you're hoping to be in a particular part of the floor do you need to plan to be there the whole time? The reason I ask is the concert I'm wanting to go to is 2 hours long, and the doors open 2 hours before it starts. Assuming you'd want to be near the front of the line I'd need to be there 30mins to an hour before the doors open, making it 4.5-5 hours standing without needing to take a leak or anything. Or is it possible to move through the crowd a bit if you wanted to try to hit the can a half hour before it starts or something?

What concert is this? Well organized concerts have assigned "seats" even though most people end up standing up. People normally have to stay in their checked section so even if they crowd near the front, you wouldn't have randoms from other floor sections invading your space.

Now if it's an open pit floor standing room only then I have no idea. That's more like a rave.

^^ this. Every concert I go to still has assigned seating even on the floor. Only the festivals are free-for-all, or small venues like the commodore ballroom

^ or big rock shows like Metallica etc. No chairs there to help with mosh pit violence :lol

But ya you can weave your way back to the front of you have to use the washroom. Just one of you needs to stay and you let people know you’re joining a friend. If other concert-goers see you joining someone at the front they should be fine with it.

It's Rammstein, there's definitely no actual seating on the floor in either the Feuerzone or the general section. I figured most people would be okay with someone making their way back to where they were before since I know I would be, but I wasn't sure.

Oh. Well that would have been good to know earlier. I would bet my life there will be no organization on the stadium floor.

Also, who cares about the bathroom situation. Doesn’t the main guy piss off the stage into the crowd? Just time you’re pee and say you’re getting into the show

We're hoping to see them in Montreal which it turns out the venue is fully outside and not in a stadium at all, more like a music festival I think.

They do some pretty crazy stuff but I don't think Till pees on the crowd haha. I think they had a giant foam cannon shaped like a dick at one point though.
