Shaw Internet - connection device list

I've been trying to figure out what is causing an insane slow down of my Internet 300 provided by Shaw.

Looking at list of connected devices, I'm trying to figure out what they all are.

We got a few alexa devices, an IP cam, random ipads/iphones/android phones.

laptops, desktops - does this list of connected items seem exhorbitantly huge? they are all marked as 'active'

If the devices are on your wifi. I believe you are able to go into your shaw account from the browser and delete them. That will prompt the user to enter the wifi password again if they know it.

Changing the password helps too.

to add.. I connected to the 5G portion of the network and holy crap...speeds took off!!!! i think i'm good..although 5G range is somewhat limited within the house...when in range, speeds are amazing.

My wifi has been garbage, not showing up at times and then sometimes when it does show up i'll connect but it will say no internet.

Shaw support wasn't much help, I'm explaining problem he's like well lots of people at home it's slower for everyone...I'm like it's not slow, where my computer is connected directly it's fine it's my wifi that is having issues.

He then switches to well must be interference....I'm like dude I'm standing 2' from my router right now I'm connected with no internet.

I was like well since the wifi works sometimes and my cable works sometimes I'll just pay my bill sometimes, seems fair right? I didn't even wait for the next response, thanks for your help and hung up.

To be honest I feel bad even complaining about my fucking wifi during the apocalypse but it's a bit annoying. We've been having issues with our cable for years sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't wifi has been having issues on and off for at least a year, I guess in the grand scheme of everything going on in the world it's whatever.... I know I could call in and speak to someone and get a credit of some sort but I really don't want to be that guy at this time, if the virus wasn't happening I 100% would.

I'll just keep using my data when it's not working.

My shaw WiFi was horrible. Would drop 5 - 6 times a day at least. Speeds were soooo slow.

Then i switched to Telus Gigabit. Would never go back to shaw. Unfortunately Telus isn't available for all communities

im under shaw contract for another year... once that is done.. i'm going back to TELUS> my shaw drops at least twice a day. they blamed the original 'contract' employee who hooked it up originally...then they blamed the crappy splitters that 'contract' dude used...buncha BS.

but.. $100 a month for internet 300 and a decent channel lineup..i'm good for dat for now.

Forget the contract. I think its $10 x 12 months
So $120 for you to cancel

Telus got Gigabit deal right now with $150 credit.
I wouldn't want crappy internet for another 12 months

Cutting the cord was the best thing.

OP, only you would be able to answer that.

We don't know how many people are in your household. Do you live with just another person? A whole family? Or perhaps multiple girlfriends beside Angie?

I use a TP-Link Deco mesh system at home.

I've made it a habit to use the app to name all my connected devices so I can recognize any unknown devices connected to my wireless network.

Telus is available everywhere in the GVRD - Pure fibre isn't.
