Would anyone have recommendations for that?

Where are you located?

https://www.dctree.ca/

This is the arborist company I used and referred to friends who were also happy with them for the price.

Bartlett Tree Experts is a bigger company that's commonly recommended. They were more expensive and it seemed like the rep who gave the estimate was more a sales person than an actual arborist who knew what they were doing.

I'm in SE Vancouver, so it looks it is within their service area?

Will give them a call next week to see what we can do.

Thank you for the recommendation, man~! :bigthumb:

I found you an arborist

Solid recommendations from sonick. +1 to DC Tree and Bartlett. In my somewhat previous line of work, we used Bartlett regularly because we had the volume and the forecast to make it mutually work. For the smaller one-off jobs, we'd use DC Tree. Both are great, but try DC Tree first.

Hondaracer 05-30-2025 04:10 PM

Bartlet will probably be towards the top of the cost scale

Reading up on Unit's story in that thread is not giving me any good vibes at all. And $3k + $500 sounds like it is waaaay too much money than I'd like to pay.

Shxt there goes my track day budget for next year... FailFish

bcrdukes 05-30-2025 04:32 PM

lol fret not, Traum.

Re: Bartlett is on the pricier side, so keep that in mind.

I just remembered this guy around the block from us because I used to live in that neighbourhood. Not sure of his prices, but he seems to be a smaller operation.

I had 2 cherry and 1 plum tree taken down in a fairly tight backyard plus all tall cedar hedges trimmed back for $2100

Bartlett quoted me $3500 for just the 2 cherry trees.

This was 3 years ago.

seems like the issues never stop coming this month. have an ant problem now. seeing more outside than usual and inside the house as well now.. I lay traps all around the house outside and inside. not sure if there is more but anyone have a recommendation for a pest company to deal with it.

Jason00S2000 06-02-2025 11:12 PM

If anyone needs a place to crash or hide out from angry mistresses/wives in the Vernon-Kelowna region, soon I will have an RV that can be used as a safe house to play PS4 and smoke joints while shit blows over. Building a list of must-have games, accessories, when hiding out from a fussy girlfriend, bitch wife, or rampaging baby momma. Cab ride from YLW be less than $100 and you'll be in the woods, totally incognito, wifi and all the comforts of home. Strippers is extra fee to fly to Vancouver and meet up with HondaRacer.

Traps dont' work. These work really well or any brand to be honest. It only works INSIDE the house cause one rain fall and it's done.

We used to get ants inside the house and we just spray along where they come and once it dries... holy.. they never come back to the area. It's just a light spray.

Been using this maybe once a quarter and never had an issue. * it is poison and i think when you buy it at canadian tire, it's locked up and you need ID.

https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/s...0zxa70ieLn2RtJ

*It does NOT kill on contact (well it does) but that's not what it's for. It's for prevention as any ants that walks past it will die.

https://pfharris.com/media/catalog/p...255&fit=bounds

i used this before Diatomaceous earth which is better as it's not poison and ok if you have pet. it's dry powder so when somethign crawls, it dries them (bugs) up and they die. THe only issue is that they will just fine a way to crawl elsewhere. Given you have to powder the shit out of your base boards with a toothbrush it was a pain. Went to the spray and it was night and day.

Badhobz 06-03-2025 05:37 AM

ill buy some ant out to try. Right now they dont come inside the house as there is plenty of food outdoors, but when the fall/winter comes, they seem to want to move indoors and my stupid buddy guy mansion has a lot of "holes" they can penetrate

unit 06-03-2025 07:38 AM

we had a bit of an ant problem a month ago and we used those ant traps. after about 3 weeks the problem is gone, however now we have a new problem outside near the garage where they are tunneling and creating small dirt mounts... feck..

GLOW 06-03-2025 01:05 PM

once it gets really bad inside is when i call someone.
one of the old mods recommended Yuri to me.

http://911pestcontrol.ca/

used him twice over the years, each time he did his never saw ants for the rest of the year.

can't seem to 100% get rid of them them, they're like deep under my garage/back yard concrete slab...been a battle over the years...

supafamous 06-03-2025 04:04 PM

Anyone got a recommendation for a duct cleaning service? That's HRV, AC, bathroom fans and dryer ducts. Thanks

lilaznviper 06-03-2025 09:58 PM

I'll grab the spray and try tmr. the one i have, has a scent and since the issue is in the bed room i'll give the wilson ant spray a try.

the old man is going around the foundation to patch up any small cracks he sees so hopefully its done for.

For the traps i've been using terro liquid ant baits.

punkwax 06-04-2025 07:32 AM

To avoid poison, make a 50/50 mix of powdered sugar and baking soda. The sugar attracts the ants and they bring the mix back to homebase where they consume. The baking soda kills them.

Nothing against you. I can't find anyone with success on this method as I've also tried it as well. I was told the baking soda will make the ant explode once consumed which again is bogus logic to me. LOL

Traum 06-04-2025 09:26 AM

Isn't it borax that you want to mix with powdered sugar to kill ants?

EvoFire 06-04-2025 09:38 AM

You don't want to have borax around the house if you got pets.

yray 06-12-2025 06:53 PM
